Free2b:

I have not been disrespectful at all and have not received answers from you. I am willing to discuss anything.

Rynok,

I see, the Christian teaching is quite different than what Mormons are taught. We are instructed by the Bible to do the following out of love for others so that they too can know the truth and be saved.

(1Pe 3:15 DRB) But sanctify the Lord Christ in your hearts, being ready always to satisfy every one that asketh you a reason of that hope which is in you.

It seems that you do not want to share until ones mind is prepared by kind words and friendliness to receive your message. I was told by e-mail that Mormons do not speak of such things until after their converts are Baptized and are sufficiently indoctrinated and trusting. This seems deceptive to me but then we Christians are taught to be completely open with the Gospel instead.

Yes, they are hiding as much as they can until you convert. the reason for this is that most of it doesn't make sense. Once you have converted it takes everything you have to get your name removed from their records.

I was raised Mormon, though I never could get myself to believe what they were trying to teach me. A man in the Mormon religion can have as many Temple marriages as he wants and is under the belief that when he goes to heaven he will still be married to all of these women and they will be obligated to be married to him. They have a process called baptisms for the dead where they take the names of dead people and baptise them into their religion using standins with the belief that these people will now be considered Mormons in the after life. They also believe that if you are married in the temple, obey all of the teachings and are generally good you will get to the highest level of heaven where you will then be given your own universe to become a God of.

I know it all sounds crazy, but that is what they believe, there is more, but I believe I have detailed it enough.

You obviously haven't been visited by the local Mormon missionaries - otherwise, you'd have met at least two Mormons who *love* discussing their beliefs.

But sometimes I personally will not answer a question about the Mormon faith (say, some questions I encounter here on YahooAnswers, just to grab a specific example for this discussion). Why is that? Because there are times I encounter a "question" that isn't being asked by someone who's genuinely interested in the answer I (or any other Mormon) would provide. They're really just asking because they want to argue and to try to "prove" they (and not the Mormons) are correct. To attempt to answer would be an effort in futility because it wouldn't accomplish anything - they'd just insist that any Mormons responding are either lying or brainwashed (and after all, if I was to make such accusations at you when you try to tell us what you believe, would *you* want to hang around and stay involved in the "discussion"?).

I'm sure I'm not the only person who's ever felt that way when encountering someone who claims to want to have a discussion about their beliefs, and if I'm "hiding" anything by not hanging around, it's the annoyance and desire to throttle them that I'm keeping under wraps.

certainly, we can drink caffeine, although many human beings do not. that is espresso, tea and alcohol that are specially prohibited. For missionaries - in all probability basically some water, kool help or lemonade or something like that. e book of Mormon - you do not inevitably could "comprehend" something approximately it - they are actually not going to quiz you. in case you have particular questions, you are able to ask. I advise you examine a minimum of the call website, introduction and the memories of the witnesses. No, you do not could hide your alcohol. i'm particular they have seen it formerly. State it the way you basically stated. you have not have been given any objective of changing, might in simple terms decide for to benefit extra. they're there to teach the gospel. The Spirit is the only man or woman who can convert a man or woman, not the missionaries. I advise you pray to comprehend if their message is actual. The Lord will pay attention your prayers.

Some do, but I think that for members, it is often considered better to discuss things one-on-one with an individual who is interested in joining, and this is often left to a missionary or someone well-versed in the faith.

Some of their beliefs are out-there, literally, such as the name of the planet that god lives on, the fact that there are many gods, and that people may become gods. These are things that might be difficult for people who do not accept the church to understand.

I am not quite sure how they keep up with their beliefs, I am told that all my answers are old and worn out from when I grew up as a mormon, so I don't know how a modern day mormon can keep track of the every changing belief system.

I think I already answered most of your questions... I'm Mormon.

Why won't you discuss with respect?

But there are several reasons why most won't...

1.The Bible says to avoid foolish questions because they only gender strifes.
2.We believe to really teach someone the Holy Spirit must be present.
3. Maybe you ask you questions when there aren't many here.
4. Your questions aren't real questions... they're attacks.

I hope you really desire to be Christ-like and really seek truth for yourself.

They will discuss them. They go in easy because they dont' want to freak people out. I know because I had a good friend try to convert me. They don't want to hit you all at once. Pretty soon, you find out that they think they will be Gods, Joseph Smith-not Jesus is the "true prophet: Eternal marriage.......

Most memebrs of the churh even the missinarys that come to your door do not even truly know what the teachings of the church are as they try to keep it a secreat. When you get high in the church to learn them you take a oath of death that if you tell you can be killed by the elders of the church.
