Ive been a Christian all my life, well,Most of it(lol),thanx to my mom being a Minister and all.Well, there are certain things I dont believe in Christianity.I dont believe in "God's Will" - that he can take you through "the Wilderness" in order to bring you out and make you see his Glory. If he wanted Us to Praise him for something he did for us,why not just let us Praise him for something he did, rather than Taking us thru hell?
Anyway,I also dont believe in "A plan" that God has for all of us.
We all are "children" or God,and he loves us equally.Right now, there is a kid in Somalia or wherever who died coz he didnt have any food to eat.And if he gets a Biscuit to eat,He is soo thankful to God for Providing him food.
In the Bible, there are certain cases where God "Delivered the enemies of Israel into their hands, and they(Israel) killed them(Enemies)"
In the same Bible,it says its wrong to take Human life. Its a sin actually. And how come they wrote the bible, events from the 1st Century

You said 1."We all are "children" or God", 2. "he loves us equally." 3."a kid in Somalia or wherever who died coz he didnt have any food to eat." Lets look at these three statement one at a time..
1. No we are not all children of God. In the Gospel of John Chapter1 verse 12 we find out that we must become children of God. In John 6:44, Jesus said that the devil was the father of the most religious men in all the land. These men lived the Law like I have never even considered. That shows that we are NOT children of God by right of birth.
2. This I agree with for while we were yet in our sin Jesus died for us. God loved the world enough to send Jesus here for that purpose, to Die.
3. This is the standard attack of the unsaved. Why does God do this (evil), why does God do that (evil). The real question is "why is man so evil as to do all these terrible things to our children?" We are the terrors of creation. We turn everything we touch into a fight for power, riches, and resources. We don't care who we hurt, Did you know that God tell us that we are more evil at heart that the devil? Jeremiah 17:9. the heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: All things He says not just some things.. If you want to talk about the rest email me... Jim

Ok you have completely back slid from all the prayer your mom has done for you your whole life. Now God is real and we praise him for coming and redeeming us from the sin left unpunished from the world age before the garden. God s will for you is to get born again and that means to receive his holy spirit, if you had you would believe he does this because his spirit living in you would teach you who he is. So you have been taught religion, and that's what you don't believe in any more, good Jesus did not either, but you need a Revelation of Jesus and get his spirit found in John 3 and acts 2. Now come on there is allot more than you have been taught, time to do the homework your self, so no man can lie to you. start here;

Perhaps you are still young and the vast knowledge of the scriptures astounds and befuddles you? Hey listen, I went through, (and am still continuously) the same phase. There was a point in my life where I just felt like giving up because everyone seemed to understand my religion so well EXCEPT me... and that made me feel left out. Just hang in there, because as you mature, you'll gradually come to understant bit by bit of what the Bible and Christianity means to you. In a sense, you "create" your own perspective of what Christianity is personally...like an opinion. It also helps to understand a bit better if you take a religion class / course such as catechism or priesthood (even if you don't want to be a priest). Religion is NOT meant to be understood completely at only in a single time, IT IS NOT SPONTANEOUS KNOWLEDGE... IT IS GRADUAL KNOWLEDGE. You can't do it like you review for tests and exams because there will be always something new to be encountered in your religion. Just take it piece by piece and walk the road with me, together we can strive to understant Christianity to the best of our abilities.

It's not up to us to question God's will or anything He did. To question something means you are still wondering around trying to find answers. He gave us a mind and a body to do what we will with it and its up to us to use it. Sure there are starving children in this world but God instilled us all to do something about that. I don't have an answer but that is left entirely up to you. You do what you think is right. Going thru hell is all part of God's plan. You have to accept the bad things that happen and not blame God for those things. Just be grateful for what you have ...what few crumbs come your way be grateful for life period. Give God a chance and you will see that all isnt hell after all.

There is nothing wrong about questioning your religion. It shows you have the ability to think about the world, observe it with your own eyes and come to a conclusion about it. This is commendable.

The result may be that you become an athiest or that you discover that you believe in God. Whatever you end up deciding, the important thing is that you thought about it and didn't just let people force-feed you your beliefs.

These are all great questions and thoughts.
I really think you ought to take them straight to the Creator in prayer.

One thing I know is that we have a God we can do business with. He is not interested in fakey-fake pious murmurings and promises to "improve and do better" kind of prayers.

He is a God who wants a relationship with us---an intimate loving one. You can't hide anything from Him, so please pour out your heart to Him and ask Him to reveal himself to you and ask Him to show you the answers to all of your questions.

Sometimes I think it actually hinders people in their Christian walk when a parent is a minister. The kid sees all of the failings and hypocrisy in that parent (which are common to us all) and then sees the disconnect between that and the public persona a priest or minister is required to present.

God really does have A plan for us, and as He says: "I know the plans I have for you; and they are plans for good and not evil."

He does tenderly care for that starving child in Somalia. There are billions of people who have lived lives on this earth which are sheer misery from a physical and material standpoint. I am so thankful when I know that some of them have spiritual bread. Just because there lives here are miserable does not mean God doesn't have a wonderful plan for them as well. After all, our lives here are such a tiny fraction of a millionth of eternity.... I know that God is just and righteous and fair in ways that we can't even fathom, and I know that He is flawless in His plan, even when I don't "get it."

Be careful, when thinking of or quoting the Bible, that you don't stay immersed in the Old Testament. The OT is a record of how badly we were able to keep God's laws. We just couldn't. Which is why God himself had to come (in the form of Jesus) and save us.

Stay in the New Testament for awhile, and let Jesus speak to your heart about all of these things. He will.

There are plenty of good Christians who don't believe that God is micromanaging our lives. That's why we have free will. And if we go through hell, he is not "taking" us there. Our own choices are. He does not "let" people die. God loves us but doesn't run the world for us. What you are rejecting is not God or even Christianity. It is just some of the sectarian beliefs of your mom's particular church. Do some reading and you will see that many people think these matters through for themselves, and take the bible as metaphorical literature. Food for thought.

first of all , why did u decide to leave God before answering ur questions , i think u should have asked those questions 1st to a priest at ur church , then decide whether to leave God or stay ,
about why God takes us to hell , he doesnt ,every one of us faces many bad things during life , u cant blame God for them , the point is when u pass them using ur faith u feel that God helped u to pass them and then u thank him , this is how things work , about the plan God helps us and never leave who believe in him so he do his will , dont forget that God said that all things are done for good for those who loves God , so some times however bad things happen it ends that i get benifit from it , a spiritual one or any benifit ,
about the somalian kid, God didnt do this to him , wars , conflicts and the people killin each other did that to the kid ,
about killings , where God "Delivered the enemies of Israel into their hands, and they(Israel) killed them(Enemies)"
this was before christ come to earth ( the old testament) but after Christ was crucified a new testament is born , this is where God tells us not to kill for any reason , so all this killing and wars was at the old testament , but now christians rnt supposed to kill any one , and i dont understand actually why u object about writing the bibble from the 1st century

Consider that it is because your mom is a so-called 'Minister' that you are doubting. Don't tell me. She taught you that Genesis is metaphorical. "It's not meant to be taken literally; it was only meant to get across 'spiritual' truths." No female "pastor" can keep from doing violence to God's Word. If she could, she wouldn't be a "pastor". She probably destroyed the foundation for your belief in a good God with one fell swoop.

If you want to rebel, don't rebel against God; rebel against what your mother has taught you (notice I was careful not to say against your mother herself). Ever heard of a book titled "Why Won't They Listen?" It's free online & will enlighten you as to why you are doubting & rebelling.

When you come to your senses after realizing what has happened to you, look to the LCMS for answers. They won't drag God's Word through the trash before they present you with the clear Law & Gospel from it.

This is the God of the Bible: "Can a mother forget the baby at her breast and have no compassion on the child she has borne? ***Though she may forget, I will not forget you! See, I have engraved you on the palms of my hands***;..." Isaiah 49:15-16a.

Also, here's a free online booklet that will explain suffering & death: http://www.answersingenesis.org/Home/pdf_notice.asp?pdf=/radio/pdf/deathandsuffering.pdf. It's not God's fault (John 9:1-3).

BTW, I am speaking from the perspective of a disabled chronically ill person. I'm not a stranger to pain & suffering myself.

You have alot of great, in depth questions that I don't think you should get your answers for off of the internet, especially on here. These are important things & you seem to be in a crossroads. You need to talk to a Christian pastor very soon. It doesn't have to be your mom, but I think it's important for you to ask someone you trust, and who is actually a religious leader, like the local pastor of your town or a neighboring church. Don't take any answers to these questions from her with a grain of salt.

God Bless & good luck. = )
