I'm not a Hendrick fan either but I understand the decision. I don't get why people can't see he wants to win. I would have totally signed that contract. You know Jeffy poo and jimmy poo and scooby doo.

I am not so sure that Jr would agree with you.
Winning championships would be the icing on the cake.
From the day that Jr announced that he was leaving DEI until the day he announced he was joining Hendricks, Jr has stated that he needs to be in a position to care for his family. First and foremost, family. The only way he could do that is to be successful, hence win races.
The title would be nice, it would be the icing on the cake, but I think Jr's decision is less about the ultimate goal of winning a title as it is about securing his families wellbeing for in the future.
Would I have done the same thing? I don't know. I think Jr made the decision he did having honorable intentions but for all the wrong reasons. Some of you will understand that, most of you won't.

sure on leaving DEI and no on being in a shadow. HMS has 3 of the 4 communities interior the Chase DEI -0-. HMS has 4 wins this twelve months and DEI -0-. HMS has been interior the the main suitable option 5 30 circumstances & DEI 7. HMS has been interior the the main suitable option ten 40 seven circumstances and DEI 19. seems to me he made a notably good selection.

So if it's all about Championships, if JR doesn't win one in the next five years is his career a failure. Jimmie Johnston and Jeff Gordon will be competeing for championships for the next five years driving the same equipment as JR. If Hendrick is as stong as it is JJ and JG could split the next 5 Nextel Cups leaving JR as a footnote, a popular driver that got close but never got the big prize. The next Mark Martin.

I would have went to Roush or Yates. Hendrick's season so far is a flash in the pan, they will hit a slump like everybody and then who will Junior blame for bad finishes?

I kind of agree, I think you're right it wasn't about the money, but I think his decision went even beyond the titles too. I think it was about being appreciated as a driver and a human being. At DEI all he was to Teresa was a commodity, her meal ticket and her grub. Dale wants someone he can be guided by and trust. And now he's a team mate with other guys who are just as big as he is and now the pressure is off him that he has to be the top dog, now it's just alll about racing and having a good time doing what he loves!

Drivers are not just sportsmen but independent businessmen.
As a Sportsman they want the championship and the laurels that it brings.
But as the businessman they want the best situation for their future.
Junior combined the two with his decision.

Your correct about this.
It isn't really about money.
It's about championships.
With DEI he wasn't getting anywhere.
With Hendrick's he will.
Go Jr.

Good thinking on your part.
Jr. wants his due, badly. Why else would he put himself through all of this?
It's make or break time and he knows it.
However, along with titles the money WILL follow.
