Kirk Cameron in thewayofthemaster.com shows you how, but what are some other ways in which we Christians can successfully do this. I ask this question respectfully as I am NOT trying to be dogmatic in my approach to share what I believe with others. Thank you for sharing your educated well thought out opinions with me and God bless you.

I would say generally they can't. If an atheist is truly an atheist, then the only thing that could lead them to Christ is if they got in big trouble and went to prison. When they had nothing else left to turn to, then maybe they'd convert.

The Way of the Master will not lead anyone to Christ who is a well thought-out Atheists. The people they approach in those videos are not the kinds of Atheists that you see on here, who know why they are Atheists, who have read the Bible, considered it and other religions, and understand science, etc.

I would absolutely love to get into a conversation with Kirk Cameron, because I would like to see what he would say to someone who actually didn't say such uninformed things as some of the people in those videos say. It's weird. They meet these people who, basically DO believe in the Bible, even though they have not chosen to take it seriously. That is to Kirk and Ray's advantage, because they don't have to convince them that the Bible is true! These people already believe it! It's astounding. So all they have to do is convince them that they should take the Bible seriously.

Well, I'd like to see them witness to someone who actually KNOWS the Bible, and who actually does not sort of half believe it to be an authority already. I'd like to see them meet a real Atheist. Or to meet a knowledgeable person of another religion, such as Judaism, Hinduism, etc.

Maybe they HAVE met such people, but didn't think it wise to show the results on their website.

To answer your question, I don't know how. But it's not Kirk's way.

Did this person ask you for your opinion? Did you consider that the other person may believe that he has found a happy and contented spiritual place for himself without need of your input?

If you are asked for your beliefs then give them, if not, then just live your life to the fullest inside your own convictions and let your life's actions speak for themselves. That is the only way to gain enough influence in the life of someone else to warrant a change so monumental as to actually make a shift in a belief system they have set in place.

Trying to figure out how to bypass this step and simply hone a sound bite or few minute speal will never work as it becomes all about you and has nothing to do with the person you are speaking to. You are in your own head running your own agenda and the person you are attempting to talk to has been relegated to the position of verbal hostage at that point.

Be spontaneous and honest in your conversations and interactions and answer all questions asked of you in a way that is straight forward and also honors your beliefs and convictions the moment the question is asked...other than that, do not let the propensity to convert this person to anything occupy any more space in your mind or you will only alienate yourself from that person, and that is exactly the oppposite of what I believe are your best intentions here.

Good Luck!

Since the vast majority of atheists think Kirk Cameron is an idiot, I'd say that's not likely to work too well. No, you can't convince us that you're right until you produce some hard evidence for god. And in 2000 years, that is yet to have happened. So don't bother.

You try to turn people into something else, you ARE being dogmatic, in fact it's genocide. Atheism requires thought; by contrast, a religion will baptise even REtards. Do you think there is any way you can make such a "select" group of people appealing to educated, sophisticated Atheist people who have actually STUDIED the issues to be where they are, instead of just "going with the flow" like sheeple or pretending to be a religious politician to get votes? Get real.

You think Atheism is some undesirable state, so you're bigoted and misinformed to boot. But what can we expect when your every word, everything you heard about, everything you were allowed to think about, was controlled by a select, insular society.

I invite you instead to deconstruct any myths you have about Atheism and Atheist people, one by one, by reading this:

I find the Kirk Cameron method insidious, underhanded, deceptive, and slimy. Show your faith through the way you live and joyously serve all humanity. Like a magnet, attract people to the love of God. Guilt-tripping people into a false conversion through trick questions is the lowest of the low.

Just so you know, most of us seem to think that Kirk Cameron is very, very funny. Way of the Master is not a good thing to use on atheists, unless you want to be dealing with really cranky atheists.

I doubt they are successful. It takes a lot of courage to be true to oneself, and all the atheists I know are very secure. Christians may score every now and then, but very rarely. For me, I have never bought into the christian myths. I believe most christians conduct their self's in a hypocritical manner. However, because there is always the opportunity for them to be "forgiven" if they become contritely penitent, they believe they will always have the chance to go to "heaven", and sit at the right hand of god. Boy.

Kirk Carmeron tries to lead people to Jesus through fear. It's pathetic, but all too common. His brand of fear-mongering doesn't sit well with me, and I feel bad for anyone who falls for it.

As an atheist, I can honestly tell you that nothing anyone can say or do would make me believe. (not even prison would have an effect, Chazzychef.. a place which I have no intention of visiting )

I don't believe most atheists when they say they are atheists. I think their outward denunciation of a divine power/belief/God is a manifestation of some personal letdown they may have experienced. They are wiser than most people think, and some of them may in fact be stating their faith when they say that God and heaven no not exist (it is one of the oldest paradoxes). I think all Christians can do is pray for them.

While Kirk's ways are one way the thing is that God has to be using a person and the Holy Spirit has to do the actual conversion. If you want to learn about some other ways and hear a great sermon at the same time then check out Pastor Paul Sheppard's series on Winning the Lost at Any Cost http://www.oneplace.com/ministries/Enduring_Truth/archives.asp
