NEVER GIVE BONES THAT HAVE BEEN COOKED as these can splinter and get caught in your puppies throat or cause internal injuries. One or two bones per week for your puppy is sufficient, otherwise the puppy can get constipated and the faeces goes rock hard.

Dogs love chewing on large RAW marrow bones. This is good for them, especially when teething. It keeps the jaws exercised and the teeth clean. The type of bones you give your Dog is very important.

RAW:- Chicken , Beef (marrow) bones, Lamb (mutton) Flaps and Brisket bones are all suitable as they do not splinter.

Bones are not a good idea at any age, they have a tendency to splinter and get lodged in the dog's throat and choke on it or tear up the digestive tract, but if he's still adamant about giving it to her, do so only under very close supervision. If the bone splinters and/ or breaks, gently take it away from her before she can swallow any of the little bits.

Yo should never give a dog a bone. they can splinter and cause a lot of damage.
I have worked in vets offices and saw one dog need emergency surgery. the dog had a steak bone and it splintered and got caught in the intestine ripping it. other food got through the hole and started to poison the dog. The dog nearly died but the vet saved it but cost the owner $8,000 dollars.
If you buy the big ones sold it pet shops and like wal marts you need to watch the dog these also splinter.

Well I would say no..At least not yet... You'll want to find out what kind of chewer your dog is... Is she a chewer that will patiently gnaw at the bone until it is ground down? Or she a gulper who will end up choking on it? Until you can be certain I would say stick to the rawhide toys until you know what kind of a chewer you have. Then I would say give that doggy a bone...So long as it isn't a chicken or pork bone (those kinds of bones tend to splinter and can cause choking)

Never give steak or chicken bones to your dog, especially those that have been cooked. They splinter too easily and will cause major problems like perforated stomachs and bowels.

Giving dogs bones is a traditional practice that makes us humans feel pride in their beastliness.

However, even wolves in the wild who chew the marrow out of bones will fracture teeth, swallow pieces that will lodge in their bowel, aspirate bone shards into their lungs, and flay the gums to the point of infection.

If you are willing to spend the money to correct injuries she can and will incur while chewing bones then by all means, give her the bones. If however, you would rather avoid problems to start with, please don't give your dog any bones to chew.

The pet store told me no bones ever and no rawhide products for puppies. My brother has two huskies - they're the best.

I personally think you should never give ANY dog a bone- regardless of the size- they can swallow it or parts of it and have serious problems- it can also make them aggressive...

cookedbones can splinter and puncture her intestinal walls. Also a puppy so young doesnt have a very developed digestive system...be prepared for diarhea if you feed any human food.
