A comment made by one of my state senators (Wyden-OR) stated that a problem our border patrol and national guard is facing is hordes (up to a hundred or more) of illegals rushing the border en mass. Obviously five or ten people cannot apprehend a hundred. Should they open fire on them? This could easily be considered an invasion force.

The analogy of a house is a great one. This country is our home, I wouldn't let someone take over my house, why should i let someone take over my country?

I definitely think of what I question. If you think we're going to have suicide bombers because we decide to defend ourselves, you may be right. Its time for a wake up call people, we've done nothing and look where it's gotten us. Keep pretending that everythings fine, the next thing you know your children are going to be speaking spaninsh in school. Open your damn eyes and see whats in front of you!

Remember Red Dawn... It can and is happening . I think the Border Patrol should be allowed to stop anyone by whatever force necessary in order to stop this invasion of illegal aliens. All law enforcement officers should be able to stop question and arrest any and all people found to be illegally in this nation.
The problem with the illegal aliens seeking a better life lies in the fact that they are causing legal Americans to be prevented from their better life. Its not a choice I am only for legal Americans.

They should and guaranteed you will have a greater threat posing in the U.S.A.Never underestimate desperate people that can join bigger terrorist groups.Lets say they start shooting people crossing illegally.Next thing you know the Mexican military starts to fight .U.S.A obviously will win within week. Now you have over 5 million Mexican people already here.Probably furious because Border Patrol shot women and children. You then have suicide bombers over here and Mexico would be run by drug lords. Before thinking of stupid questions play out your little drama in your head and imagine what will be the end product. So U.S.A then takes over Mexico now illegals are no longer illegals. What else would you cry about when that happens.

Didn't they do the somewhat the same thing in reverse at the Berlin Wall when it was there? Try and go over and get shot. Try and come over and get shot. It surely worked then for that time. Make the left create their stories us Border Agents killing families (because they love to lie) and watch no one try to sneak across the desert! Fear keeps people in line!

That's a lot of border, and competent armed gaurds can get expensive.

Mining the border would probably be more efficient.

But, it'd only stop the illegals from Mexico - Asia sends a lot of illegals our way, too.

Also more efficient, and, probably, costing far fewer lives, would simply be to enforce more severe penalties against those who hire illegals. Without the siren call of illegal jobs illegal immigrants simply won't go to the effort of coming here - from anywhere.

Of course, if you don't match that with increased legal immigration, or a more favorable business environment in some other way, you're probably not going to like the economic consequences.

There definitly should be warning shots first. It doesn't matter if it seems right or not - the law is the law.

You got papers ...welcome aboard, I'll even help out - no papers go home and get out!

My family did it the right way, so can everyone else!

P.S. 'wickedlooks' needs a reality check. I am in Iraq right now, and I have a clear consience. Obviously no one aims for women and children! Grab a rifle and walk the wall I walk!!

I would agree on that, they are illegally entering the country an if you can't catch them, your only other option is to stop them in anyway possible.
What would happen if 100 Russians charged across the border? They'd get shot. Double standards!!!

What is it with you "Oh you're such a meanie bad man for wanting to shoot a poor little Mexican who ONLY wants to have a better life!" ??? Maybe I'd like a fricking better life too! Some of us have to live week to week because they take out so many gosh darn taxes, and everything else like medical, utilities, food, etc.. cost so much! And I sure don't get to go on expensive vacations and shopping sprees and eat steak and lobster every night, and MOST Americans don't either! Yes, I feel more blessed than alot of other AMERICANS who suffer financially more than I do, like the homeless and the elderly who can't even afford their medication because of our stinking rotten greedy system. So, if you want to feel sorry for someone, then do it for the ones who are in your own country for God's sake! People are getting fed up! Why don't you whiny self-righteous do-gooders realize this???

No because then they would sue.. and you know how the US is.. if a man can sue for $54 million dollars for a pair of pants and it actually not be thrown out.. then the families of the illegals would sue.. and probably win and then we wouldn't have a border patrol.. no money
I actually heard a story I think yesterday about some illegals trying to swim across the border and supposedly the border patrol told them to swim back to Mexico and they drowned.. and there was no evidence that the border patrol told them to do this and yet the family sued and the government settled for an undisclosed amount of money... imagine if we started shooting them
