My vet recomends Science Diet, no its not a doggy diet food. Its a food that didn't get a recal and is proven to be the healthiest food around. Umm get it at pet stores.

Any good quality puppy food is good to feed. Just make sure it has high protein/ high fat content. Talk to other Husky people and see what they recommend. Go to Yahoo groups and type in Husky and see how many groups pop up. The best source of information on any breed is the breed group as they have proven methods that work. I personally belong to a couple of German Shepherd groups and the wealth of information from people who have been in the breed for a long time is invaluable. Also I would suggest not keeping a large breed pup on puppy food too long as the high protein and fat content prove to make them grow faster than their bones do and causes problems down the line.

Ok I have an American bulldog puppy and he is huge probably going to be bigger tan his father. We started feeding him the brand food like Puppy chow Purina etc. But after talking with a few dog breeders specifically for large dogs they all agree and I have seen great results with a food called Nutro and we mixed some Billjack now both of these foods are nod cheap by any means but rather expensive but you Will see great growth with them and great gains and great appearance in the dog's coat and his eating habits. You will not need to feed the puppy as much as the other foods because it is not filled with fillers so he or she will get full pretty fast. the majority of the mix should be the Nutro and the lesser should be the Bill Jack the Nutro is designed for all the nutrients and the Bill Jack is a big dog breed pump food... Best of luck.

I highly recommend Canidae dog food. Very high quality food, No by products nor corn or wheat or soy. No fillers of any kind.
There is a Husky breeder here by the name of Loki Wolfchild. Look her up in Yahoo and see all the advice and answers she has give others. It will help you out a lot.

I feed blue buffalo to my dogs, it is the best food petsmart sells, iknow cause i work there. Be sure that your petfood doest have corn wheat or soy in the first 5 ingredients. These ar fillers.
Despite the popularity of Iams Eukanuba and Science Diet they are not really premium diets, just well advertised.
And also NEVER feed anything with "meat" by-products. This is any mammal....incuding the corpses of euthanized dogs and cats from shelters. No i am not kidding, this is a real problem and people turn a blind eye to it.

raw diet. OR partial raw with a kibble like California Natural or Canidae. "The Honest Kitchen" is natural and freeze dried raw diet, but it has had mixed reviews as to how dogs respond to eating it. I have never heard of a well dog being offered a raw diet and refusing it.
I feed mine partial raw with Venison and Rice kibble from Nature's Recipe- was not on any recalls for melamine etc. and contains no beef, corn, wheat.
In addition they take supplements: NutriVed and Skin Formulation 3V Caps with Omega 3, Vit A, D and E.
Ester C is a good supplement to boost immune system .

NO store brand foods such as IAMS/Eukanuba, Pedigree, Purina, Science Diet,Beneful (which is one of the worst) etc..these contain way too much cheap fillers & by products.
Look for a quality food such as Canidae, Wellness, Chicken Soup for the Dog Lover's Soul, Solid Gold, Innova just to name a few.

Emergency vet clinics are no longer closed. your very own vet has an emergency variety which solutions 24/7 and the call is unfastened. you won't get your very own vet on the line, yet you would be related to ... frequently an answering service, which will touch the on-call vet who covers on your vet in off-hours, and who will call you lower back. For now, do no longer provide the puppy something. Her abdomen is obviously VERY dissatisfied and she or he would be in a position to basically vomit lower back something given to her. If the puppy is a healthful weight, it must be okay to basically provide it some hours and notice if she starts off to experience extra suitable, yet do no longer try this till a vet approves it.

CANIDAE----for the money-it is the best. Quality dry food for less than $1 per pound. There are many good more expensive foods, but not necessarily any better.
