I am an unsigned songwriter with an original rock opera for the post 9/11 era in tow, songs pretty much complete, but not willing to proceed without editing, re-write, and input necessary from trained playwright to complete the libretto and recording.

Or a local college? One with a playwrighting or good theatre program.

Check out your local community or college theatre. It always helps to start local and "test the waters" there. If it is a hit, then copyright it and start sending it to movie companies!! Without an agent it will be hard, but perhaps "off broadway" may be the best direction to start....
