I'm out of the country for an extended period, and would like to know about the immigration debate. I figured the Republicans would take stern measures against illegal immigration, while Democrats would have hippie sit-ins and talk about how the illegals are all hard woking grape pickers.

However, from the few articles I was able to gather, it seems like both parties are just content to let in 12 million people, although they may have to pay a penalty.

Is no one worried about permanently changing the racial composition of the U.S.? How about wages? Isn't letting in all these people just an excuse to keep wages low?

What are the real issues being debated? Has anyone seriously broached the very non-PC topic of maintaining the current racial composition in the U.S., or are politcians too gutless to speak about the obvious?

"Army Retired Guy" brought up a very salient point: what can we do to make politicians really work on behalf of our nation? For decades we've been talking about alternative energy sources, but big oil keeps that from happening. We've thrown our borders open and it is not in any politicians best interest to tackle tough issues. When Mexicans protest with signs that say, "Today we march, tomorrow we vote", that is rather ominous to politicians. Neither party wants to oppose immigration, and then have it haunt them at the polls for the next century.

The dems want to get 12-20 million (plus another 20-60 million family members of the illegals) as new dem voters. The illegals will likely vote for the party that gives them the most benefits like welfare, food stamps, free medical, housing, etc. As soon as they become citizens they would be fools to keep working - they could just go on SSI or some other assistance and live far better then if they were still in mexico or wherever.

The repubs are selling us out for their big business and chamber of commerce buddies. This influx of cheap labor will only last until they are citizens then as the illegals follow the step above for welfare the next crop of illegals will be welcomed by our politicians. There must be some huge kickbacks coming in for this sellout of us real Americans!

We need to vote out EVERY senator who voted for this thing!!!!!

Your an fool in case you think of those are the recommendations. unlawful immigrants are no longer all interior the comparable type. human beings could be termed unlawful immigrants in one in each and every of three procedures: via getting into devoid of authorization or inspection, via staying previous the approved era after criminal get right of entry to, or via violating the words of criminal get right of entry to. Now the concern you have is that the criminal factor won't be able to settle for citizenship whether they have been criminal immigrants so a blanket amnesty won't artwork yet you may capture them to deport them are you keen to pay a hundred% or extra tax for the extra suitable manpower and supplies desire? theory no longer. yet of those that are no longer criminal that's the companies who hire them no longer the immigrants that effect salaries yet no longer via lots because of the fact they do no longer gets a commission everywhere close to as on the factor of what could in many cases be paid and the corporation could probable no longer hire a criminal worker in his stead so that could be a delusion that immigrants are the only reason. As for reason unemployment it fairly is yet another delusion. There are extra jobs than human beings however the concern is that community human beings in undemanding terms choose for a undeniable activity and choose for extra suitable than the going fee.

Our voices were heard, for a moment. The bill stalled.

We have to continue to inform them of our desires!

I've written my Senators . . . both of which voted NO.

We absolutely need to clean HOUSE. Anyone in there who has been there for 12 consecutive years or more MUST go.

Integrity will not be restored until they understand that their job is to represent US.

I do not understand it either it is as if our voices do not matter. The politicians seem determined to let these law breakers enjoy the benefits of citizenship.

As I watch them matching carrying Mexican flags, speaking Spanish and making demands, my thought was they should be sprayed with Raid. That is what you do when you look up one day and see foreign creatures overtaking home. Or better yet what better chance to round them all up and send them to Iraq!!!!

It makes me sick to see all these non English speaking, disease carrying, illiterate, law breakers here. The thought of them being rewarded for breaking our laws, creating chaos in our land and then to even consider allowing them to stay here is unimaginable.
