in order to forgive us for being what we are?

It wasn't for His benefit, but for ours. We historically (and personally) have found all sorts of ways to justify our behavior and not see the consequences of our actions.

If He really saw us as unclean and unworthy in the sense you mean it, what would prompt Him to offer anything for us at all? Forgiveness always requires more of the person doing the forgiving than it does of the person being forgiven. So, again, if we weren't worth much to God, He wouldn't have bothered.

He paid a great price for us - in terms that show both the horrific nature of sin and the enormity of His sacrifice (I wouldn't give up a child for anybody or anything).

I get that religion can be applied in such a way that it seems God hates us for _being_, but I think that's spiritual abuse. The point is that we learn to live as Jesus lived. That we become like Him. Knowing we aren't is the first step.

My wife and I were having a conversation that somewhat touches off on what you are asking.
We were sort of questioning out loud together about how if God is so perfect than why does/did He create an imperfect anything that manifests continual imperfection?

In my studies relating to theological principals the physical properties that surround us all on this earth reveal a constant
arrow of direction*answer* as to clues tha God is in fact in control. It's just the human thing that's a mystery.
It's like looking at the underside of a tapestry. All that we humans while living on this planet can see is a confusion of mixed up colors.
However when we pass on from this existance we will see what it all means and that tapestry will be a beatiful vivid picture !

GOD DID NOT KILL HIS SON, the Jews and Romans did!!!

God did allow his son to be killed, but God knew it was going to happen before hand anyway and so did Jesus. Jesus's death was a neccessary part of the plan, without his death and resurection, there would be no resurection for us. The plan of salvation was all "planned" out in the pre-existence before Adam and Eve were created and everything since then has been part of that plan. Do you not think God knows whats going to happen?

The reason he lets "bad" things happen is because the greatest gift he gave to us is our free agency (the freedom to do what we want to) and even God cannot interfere with that free agency. Of course that does not free us from the consequences of our "bad" actions...

Huh? You're question is a little hard to comprehend, the wording through me off track. But I believe that you are asking why God had to kill His own son to forgive us for our sin. Well let's face it, we are sinners. Ever since Adam and Eve sinned, it has been in the human nature to be a sinner. But God wanted and still does, for us to live with God for eternity in Heaven. But sin prevents us from this relationship. The only way was to sacrafice His only son, who was purged of all impurity and willing to come to the cross because Jesus loved us too. Only by the shedding of pure and innocent blood can we come to God, but we must first accept this. Also, this is a difficult and fathomless concept, but God is Jesus. The trinity, God, Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit, and Jesus willing went to the cross. God loves you so much that the sacrafice was worth it. So you must take the chance and ask God to accept you into the Kingdom of Heaven, despite the sinner that you are. And ask God to come into your life. God is perfect, and we aren't, it's that simple.

I actually have a pal who was in contact interior the occult and suffered from this comparable variety of intense and unreasonable worry. The Bible says that God has not given us a spirit of worry... and it says that while you're in worry then you certainly do not understand love with the aid of fact ideal love casts out worry ... a approach or the different that worry entered. there's a door open which you're able to close on your existence. have you ever possibly been in contact in a cult or an extremely obssessively dogmatic church device? Or, like my pal, have you ever been in contact interior the occult? Even something that seems so common as analyzing your horoscopes supplies demonic forces criminal permission to function on your existence. God is the guy who holds your destiny in His arms - not another entity / tension. e mail me in case you have any questions, God bless you!

That is the length He is willing to go to save your soul. He walked the walk. He showed us how to have the personal relationship with Him. Jesus was fully human but He was also fully God. That is how He was able to die as a human and when His human form was dead, He was only God then. He woke the human Jesus up when He came back. This is incredible. I do not know anyone else who has done that. To save your soul.

Sin is serious. we like to downplay them because we do not like to be called sinners. But we all are. And that is OK. When we accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior, He does not refer us as sinners anymore. His blood washed our sins away.

Remember, God did not have to do this. You did not ask for it. This is what He wanted to do. He gave His life for you, no one took it. He did this all because He loves you. : )

One of the more unfortunately Christian doctrines is the idea that everyone is essentially worthless garbage, and the only way to feel good about yourself is to stand next to the religion's superhero, Jesus, so you can feel good vicariously.

Christianity is a lot like being Al Bundy, then, though Touchdown Jesus never scored four touchdowns in one game.

Remember, Jesus is God. God did not kill Himself, He gave His life for us. He claimed it back. Jesus is alive and he is able to wake you up too and take you to heaven after you die. Only if you want to be saved by Him.

We are sinful beings. YOU TOO
We do not come close to the glory of God.

He found us worthy of his grace.
