I've read a self-help book but I certainly wouldn't look to astrology for any answers.

The Other 90 Percent
How to Unlock Your Vast Untapped Potential for Leadership and Life
By: Robert K. Cooper

Although a host of recent scientific discoveries have found that human capacity is limitless, most people, because of an innate biological predisposition, use only a tiny fraction of the immense power of their intelligence and spirit. And, unless individuals make the conscious decision to override this tendency, they remain blocked from their greatest potential. As a result, they are left with constant feelings of hopelessness, stress, and uncertainty.

The Other 90% uses inspirational stories and the wisdom of the ages to explain how all people, no matter what their field of endeavor, can effectively draw on their previously untapped human potential to make a significant and long lasting difference in themselves and in the lives of others. And, it provides valuable help in the form of specific and practical guidelines, firmly grounded in the latest research in neuroscience, and psychology for building and sustaining exceptional relationships, increasing calm effectiveness under pressure, creating the future, and exceeding expectations.

Yes, I own several self-help books. I own a few by Dr. Rabbi Abraham Twerski, who is a psychiatrist and rabbi both. He has some books on self-esteem and depression, as well as losing weight, which I have found helpful.

I also LOVE LOVE LOVE the self-help books by Rabbi Zelig Pliskin. I have his book called Gateway to Happiness, as well as several little "pocket" sized books on Happiness, Serenity, Courage, etc. These are amazing! In fact, I need to go dig them out again. ;-|

Let me see, I also have a few by Wayne Dyer, and some other authors.

Shoot, if I'd actually read some of these, I'd probably be pretty well-off! hahahaha.

I don't really know much about astrology, but I can't see why that would be accurate.

A "self help" book, and astrology are two different things. One is based on fantasy and entertainment, and the others are usually practical knowledge gathered by a human being to address some sort of social or mental issue. Astrology is not Astronomy, and is not science, or based in any sort of scientific proofs. We tend to see only that seems to apply to us, and disregard the other 75%. The sign I was born under was, "no smoking oxygen in use".

No. The writers of those items try very hard to make the description so general that it will fit some part of every person, but still fail. They are a hoax. Pops

No, I don't believe in self help books, because according to the Bible, you CAN'T help yourself. Jesus said to DENY yourself. Only Jesus can set you free of any given thing and only He can help... people need to take the focus off of self long enough to see that, and put their focus back on Jesus Christ and His Sacrifice... because that's one of the many things that His Sacrifice was for.

And no, I'm aquarius and every time I've looked at ANY horoscope-like deal or quiz or ANYTHING, it's complete baloney...nothing like me at all. I think that's because if you've truly given your HEART and your whole LIFE to Jesus, you become more like Him and there is no stupid zodiac sign that can describe how you are because you don't fit into any of the world's ideals. That's why the Bible says that we are "set apart" and it says not to love the ways of the world. Besides... The Bible says to avoid that kind of stuff. I can't remember where but I've read it in like three pages, where it talks about people who look into the stars to try to get answers...because those people existed even in Bible days. And it says not to be involved. Besides, why would you look to stars for answers, when you could look to the One Who made those stars?

i own self help books. interestingly enough, they're all faith based. i don't believe that my sign is a good indication for the type of person i am. how can one sign be right for millions of people who happen to be born in teh same month? God created each of us uniquely.

I have a sex signs book for astrology.

But see, you can have traits of a sign but not be that sign. I have traits of several signs. It's all so vague...you see what you want to see.

1) Yes. The Holy Bible.

2) Yes. I know I shouldn't - but I've met too many Aquarians who are just like me and we get along really well. Strange.
