My puppy is 10 weeks now. He is getting his second round of shots the day before he turns 11 weeks on 6/22.

There is a BBQ I was going to take him to the day after. Would it be okay to put him down on the floor with a leash? will the vaccination be working already? or should I just carry him?

The vet told me that I should take him out at 16 weeks just in case. Since lots of diseases live on the soil for a certain amount of time. But the concern would be taking it to the bbq and putting it on the ground at the park.

I have been taking my dog out to the backyard everyday. But would it be safe to take him on a leash to go to the nearby park? I rarely see any dogs around there. maybe 1 or 2 a day.

I would start taking your pup for a walk now. That way he can get acclimated to being on a leash, as well as running into other animals on your walk. I'd take him to the BBQ as well. This will help him socially with other people. We took our lab to a BBQ when she was 10 weeks old and she loved it (especially playing with the rambuntious kids!)! Keep an eye on him and know when he's had enough to rest and relax. Remember that he may get tired after a period of playtime. Have a quiet spot that he may go to get away for a bit. This also gave me an out for a bit as well!! :)

Good luck!

you can probably take him for walks where there wouldn't be many animals allowed. i wouldn't even consider taking to the BBQ as a lot of diseases are air born and not picked up from the ground.
i would mostly listen to the vet but he is older my pups are usually getting their third set of shots at 12 weeks. Start getting the pup use to a leash if not already in your house so he will be ready to go out.also I would suggest dog obedience classes so he can learn his manners.

You are not allowed to take a puppy out until you have ALL the shots that are recommended by the vet. If you are not careful your dog may come down with (I don't know what they call it) but your dog can get sick and then die. So be careful. Get all the shots

That would be just fine. If there is a fenced in area you could even let him off the leash and let him run around, just keep an eye on him.

you can take him on a walk any time, the earlier the better to get them used to the leash. Just make sure to take him to a safe environment where he can't get hurt or eat anything poisonous.

You can take him for a walk as soon as you get a leash on him.

You shouldn't put him on the ground, or in any unclean place until he has all three rounds of shots. Parvo is carried on the bottom of peoples shoes, and until they are fully vaccinated, they are susceptible to it.
