You know its interesting to see the answers I see on this board. As a human being, my first instinct would probably be to attack this person. I mean how dare he question how I practice my faith?
However I am speaking as a Christian, when I say thank you for posing this question to me today.
I ask myself, have I been as kind and caring to EVERYONE that has crossed my path today (even to those who piss me off) as I could be? Could I have been a little more patient with the people at AT&T who keep billing me incorrectly? Yes. Could I have been a little more thoughtful to my boyfriend this morning when he was rushing to get out of the house? Yep.
And for all of these things, I ask God for forgiveness, and try better starting at this moment
But here's the wonderful thing about being a Christian...Jesus gives me a fresh, clean slate.
Now going back to the second part of your question... to say that Christians show NO love...That's a teeney tiny bit of an exageration. We feed the homeless, clothe the naked, take care of the sick. We Do much good in this world.
The question is can we do better? Yes I can.
Thanks for posing the question! Peace to you!

Brother, heres a quick question: why are you being so stereotypical of the christian religion? Some Christians are actual very caring, and I have a great amount of respect for the deceased Pope, John Paul. But what is often publicized is the bad actions of Christians. Stakhfarallah. You must try to look beyond the bad and see what good there is. Look at the answers others have given becasue of your question? And to everyone who hates this guy now, think about this: Islam preaches it's roots from Christianity and Judaism. So how about you look up the facts first? We have whole sections of the Qur'an for Jesus, Virgin Mary, and Moses.

Muhammad, you're getting ALL kinds of folks here. Some are reclusives and some are bored. Some are Christians. We ALL have sinned. We ALL have fallen short.
I live my faith as honestly as I can; I make no pretense. I'm in need of God's grace. But, this is a broadly generalizing question and you know it.
Come to my church and then tell me we don't show love. Not here. This forum is like a lightbulb hanging by a building in the forest in summer - there's a lot of bugs buzzing around.
If you want to know love, study Jesus Christ. Then, go and do what he says. Start with Matthew, Mark, Luke, etc and then after you have read it, go live it. Then tell me that Christians aren't loving. When you have done that, I'll listen to the complaint.
Sorry if that sounds sarcastic; I'd tell you that if your name was Joe Christian and you asked the same question.
How can I show you love on a computer?

Assalaamu Alaikum.
Allah tells us in the Quran that there are pious and righteous Jews and Christians and that the Christians are the closest to the Muslims in love.
If we look at the biography of the Prophet we see that the Muslims were given refuge in the first migration by a Christian king in Ethiopia. The Prophet praised him for his justice and fair dealing.
As such we should not be insulting Christians with such provocative questions. If Christians have not showed you love than you must show them love of Islam and the kindness of the Prophet.
Allah says that we must reply to evil with that which is good and also that we have to deal with people with good character and wisdom.
Was-salaam

Thats like asking why Muslims say that they love everyone, but then kill people out of hate.
It generalizes the entire group, puts people off, and basically starts a word war from the beginning. Don't generalize, its wrong. Like drugs. Just plain wrong.
Oh, and to answer your question, you must be talking about a select few, because there are plenty of us Christians that preach and show love.

Because some of them are hypocrites. Kind of like the Muslims that claim to preach peace and then blow up innocent people.
Hypocrisy's everywhere, bud.
Best be an honest sinner.

its not just Christians that don't show love for fellow humans. but most other Christians I've ran into, mostly ones that are different denominations than me try to convince you that they are superior for being part of that denomination and I've here it from all that "if your not (fill in the bank), your going to hell." they forget that Jesus loved everyone and did not condemn anyone, even those that hung him upon the cross. we all need to be more open minded about other religions and try to be better people.

Many people preach love, but fail to show it simply because they don't understand it. They think that by repressing what they believe is sin, that they are showing love; by making it difficult to be a homosexual, by showing disdain, hatred and making it difficult for them to live, Christians think they are showing love.

Christians preach love as an ideal to be striven for, but Christians are also imperfect humans.

Oh but I do..I have love for all people..I am sorry that you feel that ALL Christians don't show love.
That is what the bible teaches one to do most of all..Love one another.
True Christians uphold this teaching.
