And security is tightened, will we see more tunnels, people taking boats around border on the ocean, hot air balloon rides, etc?

tunnels, boats, planes. Many will find a way, many others will not. It will not stop it, but it should slow it down and help make our borderlands safe for private citizens again.

Building a fence across the entire US-Mexico border would be a financial, engineering and logistics nightmare. A third of the border goes down the middle of a river that is vital to the economies of both countries and another third crosses some of the most rugged mountains and canyons in north America. People will still swim the river, brave the mountains, buy rides in semis, bribe officials and cut holes in the places that can be fenced. A fence won't stop a burglar from getting into a junkyard and one won't stop someone from getting into the country.

LOL....yes...they've already started digging tunnels. Love the hot air balloon ride though. I mean is there a real mental block with NO these days? I mean are we going to be forced to go to shoot to kill before people realize you don't have the right to come here illegally just coz you want to? Hey.....so be it. As far as I'm concerned we've pussy-footed around long enough. Peaceful measures don't work with these people. All they know is violence and corruption. Gee...."please don't hurt me" has no meaning to these people. Maybe a few heads lobbed off and stuck on stakes is what it takes. We aren't dealing with rational peaceful people. Guess the game is how low can can you go. Why do people that cry for compassion and peaceful measures not respond to compassionate and peaceful measures? Smile and people smile back. No....smile with these people and they spit in your face. I rub your back and you rub mine? No ...you rub their back and they stab you in yours.
Run into a no tresspassing fence and you go around?
No......if things keep going like it is.....peaceful measures are no longer and option. Nice ain't working!!!!!!!
Why don't they give maps out to the Bush ranch, the Kennedy compound and to those people who so desperately want them and keep them away from those that don't? Hey....New Haven Conn wants you......go there. Carpentersville doesn't....so go where you are wanted. Hazelton doesn't and a host of other places. You don't congregate at a business who isn't hiring......go where they want you!!!! Why keep hanging out where people have had enough? Russia needs people. China is running into a shortage of women. There's other places to go! You've reached saturation points.......spread the wealth around. Get out of my area....pool your money and hit those gated communities where they need yard workers and babysitters. I want you to look at every Senator and such that votes for this and tell you to move next door to them.. Obviously they have a need. They may even have a guest house out back for you and ALL your family members. Obviously they have land and would LOVE a tent community next to them. Go....they NEED you!!!!!!!

I'd personally prefer to see a Berlin wall type of arrangment, without the machine gun nests and land mines, but with patrols and obstacles to make crossing very difficult.
That being said, people did manage to get through the Berlin Wall, but in very few numbers.
People will manage to get across any obstacles we put in their way, but the goal is to change it from hundreds of thousands coming across each year, to hundreds. They'll still slip in cars, tunnels, by sea, etc.

I believe that when that fence is completed, there will be more surveillance and technology that will be directly related to stopping burrowing, taking boats, and hot air balloons(hahahaha). This fence is just the tip of the iceberg....

They are suposed to have sensors that detect tunneling. You are one of those pro-illegal people who don't want to see the border secure.

i rather like the idea of escaping a country in a hot air balloon i believe someone actually escaped berlin in a hot air balloon

It could pose a problem for them as all the people that can run jump or swim are already over here.
