A gentle answer deflects anger,
but harsh words make tempers flare.

This verse is found in Proverbs 15 verse 1 in the Bible.
For those of you who are not familiar with God's Word, the Bible, do you see how rich the words of God are?
How true are these words above! All of God's Word is true, and this is just a taster.

This is true. When I go out witnessing, I talk to people without getting mad and angry at them. Alot of people tell me they appreciate me taking the time to here what they belive too. After you here what they have to save they almost beg you to tell them what you believe. If someone does not want to listen to me I do not force them to, I will just offer them a tract. You cannot win someone to Christ by harsh words.

I love that scripture and I love the entire Chapter of Proverbs, it is so full of wonderful wisdom. There is certainly no other book like the bible..You read it and you know its from God..no one could write such beautiful things and wisdom without a higher power.

How rich, true, and inspiring is this taster from Judges, Chapter 11:

30 And Jephthah made a vow to the LORD : "If you give the Ammonites into my hands, 31 whatever comes out of the door of my house to meet me when I return in triumph from the Ammonites will be the LORD's, and I will sacrifice it as a burnt offering."

32 Then Jephthah went over to fight the Ammonites, and the LORD gave them into his hands. 33 He devastated twenty towns from Aroer to the vicinity of Minnith, as far as Abel Keramim. Thus Israel subdued Ammon.

34 When Jephthah returned to his home in Mizpah, who should come out to meet him but his daughter, dancing to the sound of tambourines! She was an only child. Except for her he had neither son nor daughter. 35 When he saw her, he tore his clothes and cried, "Oh! My daughter! You have made me miserable and wretched, because I have made a vow to the LORD that I cannot break."

36 "My father," she replied, "you have given your word to the LORD. Do to me just as you promised, now that the LORD has avenged you of your enemies, the Ammonites. 37 But grant me this one request," she said. "Give me two months to roam the hills and weep with my friends, because I will never marry."

38 "You may go," he said. And he let her go for two months. She and the girls went into the hills and wept because she would never marry. 39 After the two months, she returned to her father and he did to her as he had vowed.

You mean harsh words like, you're evil, you're a "non-believer", you will go to hell unless you see that I am right. You have no faith if you are not a "christian". You are a sinner with evil ways. Yeah I can see where that would make tempers flare.

Actually I know that verse...I am a Christian, but I'm not sure how convincing this post will be to anyone. Good verse to make known though.
