the story of sodom and Gomorrah does not seem like justification of how god feels about homosexuality. after all im certain that the people of sodom and gomorrah were more than just homosexuals.

in other words, according to the story, sodom and gomorrah weren't good cities for more than the fact that a few of the men slept with one another. geeeeez! sodom and gomorrah were not destroyed because of homosexuality.

Ok so firstly that's not a fair comparison - sexuality and language are completely different things and shouldn't be treated with one generalised statement. In fact I agree that the phrase "God loves gays but hates homosexuality" isn't the best way to express a point. God loves all of us (we're all his children) but he is upset when we turn our back on him and sin whether that means stealing, murdering, lying, being unkind and selfish or sinning sexually. This is where my personal opinion/interpretation comes a in a bit bc I am a Christian but I am not against homosexuality. I am completely accepting of all sexualities bc that's the way He made people and after all love is love and it's better than hate. Although in the Old Testament it says homosexuality is a sin many things in the Old Testament have been discredited - even by Jesus! We have to take social and historical context into account when we look at certain things in the Old Testament.

Most gays don't love God and live by his laws because they continue to have sex with other men. If you are by chance one of those rare individual gays who doesn't have sex with other men because you believe it's wrong and a serious sin against God, then you are a Christian and I applaud you for it. No sin is not all the same, some are more serious and worthy of hellfire than others. You can't compare a lie which is to protect others to an act of sodomy. The bible makes it clear that certain sins committed cannot lead a person to heaven.

Dude, no offense, but that's a poor comparison.

God loves gays, but it is the manner and type of sex that they perform that is the sin. God loves every single human being on this earth despite their sins. The French that the French people speak isn't a sin. It's the way they communicate with each other.

Taking drugs is a choice, yes. Not a good one because if the drug user continues to abuse those drugs they will eventually die. There are consequences to every choice we make. They will either be a good one that will lead us to better things or the wrong one that will hurt either the person and/or the people around them.

I welcome the truth and I know that the Bible is the Truth. God teaches us to love each other unconditionally the way He loves us.

By the way, I am a Christian and I love gays. I have extended family members who are gay and I love them. I wouldn't trade them for the world.

Actually the comparison you have drawn is inaccurate. Allow me: God loves French people but hates the French language would be a better way to use your own examples. What is hard about this concept? Imagine a mother or father who have a son in prison for murder. Do they still love their son? Probably. Do they love his crime? Doubtful. Your problem is not with us Christians and our meaningless sentences, it is with God. You refuse to submit to him and call something a sin when he says it is. That is not our problem that is yours. I don't plan on reporting you however, because you asked an actual question. You are right about one thing though. Truth does scare those with something to hide. Why are you so scared?

WOW! That's got to be about the worst comparison I've seen. What you fail to realize as do many people is that language is necessary. Homosexual perversion is not. And its a VERY obvious one at that. Like child molestation and bestiality. God loves those who engage in these things as well. He loves all His creation. He just hates some of what we do.

And the truth shall make you free

I agree with you, but you have to see it the way most Christians do... To them, it's a disease.

They look at it more like "God loves people, but he hates Cancer"

I am Christian, but I don't hate gays. Most Christians don't remember that God is the one who is supposed to judge people for their actions. I have never met God, so I don't know his views on homosexuality.

People say "Oh, well it's in the bible" but they don't realize that the bible was written by MEN, not God.

I think if people are gay, their gay. I wish them happiness

If god hates homosexuality then why did it create it. There are numerous recorded instances of animals engaging in homosexual acts. Read an article about a species of lizard that has no males, the females self fertilize and some of them act like males mating.
Confused insecure people are easier to control and exploit.

Gods love is through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ. Jesus died and paid the price for all sin upon the earth past, present, and future. So all sin is covered, however the actual sinner has a choice to either receive the gift of God's Salvation or reject it. This is what it means to love the sinner but hate the sin. The sinner is given unlimited chances through out life to commit his or her life to God and allow Him to work through them. The chance is not made null and void for anyone until their last breath. After that God will judge by our hearts who truly accepted Christ as Savior and who didn't. That will be the only determining factor as to weather a person spends eternity in heaven or hell. So the current state of a sinner who is without God is not a hopeless situation because as long as they live they'll have another chance to accept Jesus, be saved from eternal death, and be radically changed for God's purpose.

God has voiced his feelings about homosexuality. But He is more concerned about the PERSON who is beguiled into thinking that it is good. It's problematic to the way God has created us as men and women. God loves us but that lifestyle eventually drives a wedge between God and the one who insist on living such a lifestyle.
I hope that is clear enough.
