What do you class as genuine? Most English people have other nationalities running through their blood to some extent. My Grandma and Grandad were Polish but I still consider myself to be genuine English.

In the context you have put it, none! All people who inhabit the United Kingdom are immigrants (including the Celt's).
How many people who live in this country can use the English language competently, not many. Just get on a train and listen to the few who actually speak reasonably well. The number of dialects spoken by those born here is amazing.
People from countries like Australia, New Zealand, Canada, South Africa and The Netherlands speak better English than the people living in Britain.
I think that those who are educated and use the language competently, contribute to this society by working, running business, employing people, paying taxes rather than sitting on benefits and complaining are more "genuine" than those who don't.
So, whats your point!!

Ah simple one - you have touched a nerve ... the question of english identity!
the scots and Irish and welsh seem very settled in their own skins but what about the english?
It seems everyone is a quarter this or a quarter that and has some kind of foriegn nationality hidden (or not) in their background.
Why are you interested in this- are you a poor white english boy who sees no future for yourself?
Lad, I will give you 5 options, - emigrate and start a new life in Canada/Australia/Wherever. Join the army and be a man.
Do nothing and stay where you are and fester in your pity. Start your own political party- be involved, it is your right being born in England. Get an education and UNDERSTAND!
Your question is emotive and no doubt will hit the spot with the racists!!!

You mean people from England or English speakers? I'm confused! And why does it even matter. One could ask how many genuine Native Americans live in this country, but I'm pretty sure the genuine English murdered most of them so they could take their land.

Do you mean the UK or the US? And what exactly is a genuine English person?
Assuming you mean the UK and assuming you mean a genuine English person to mean someone who is "white British" it is 85.67% of the population, the next highest being "other white" at 5.27%, then Indian at 1.8%.
