I cannot.
but have been in this forum just long enough to see that there seems to be a huge number of people who do not, and probably will never question the dogma they are ready to lay down their lives, and the lives of others, to follow. They have been brainwashed into believing there is a prize waiting for them at the end of their un-rainbows (they don't believe in "the gay lifestyle" so I had to edit that too....)
in my tradition, you will not get anywhere until you are actively looking at and questioning (from all possible angles) all of your belief structures, all of your conditioning, all of your issues.
It is only when you are clear do you know yourself to be free.
Otherwise, to reference a YA Christians' statement I read earlier today, you are bought by Christ's death. "You are bought". So disturbing to me. If you are bought, you are not free.
at the end of the day, the dogma I choose to live by is to question my perceptions, and all dogma, relentlessly....

But being a Freethinker also means to think freely enough to keep an open min as to what every and any dogma has to say and what it stands for and making a decision based on all of the information that has been gathered. Being closed minded isn't thinking freely.

Study it? Yes.
Learn from it? Yes
Follow it? Only if you can agree with it.
That is a big IF and so far I have to consider myself Agnostic.
No one Knows for sure but I believe there IS a God and He is good. but I don't think ANYONE knows the WHOLE truth.
Political? I consider myself conservative but I don't think any of our major political parties are correct and I'm sure BOTH are headed in the wrong direction!
I do believe in LIMITED Government and our Founding Fathers were the wisest of all politicians I've seen throughout the history of the world.
I'll follow their lead until I find something better.
It sure as hell isn't Marx.

Because dogma (as a principle(s) set forth by an authority to be true) essentially in one area is going to be the truth.
Denial of an ultimate truth is ridiculous.

"Accept the company line without question?"
Believe me, I've worked hard to become as unpopular as I am. It's so refreshing because I get to practice my multi-tasking skills to full potential, which means I can be myself and really piss off everyone else at the same time.
I live to be as arbitrarily obnoxious as I can when it comes to the herd.
Happy cheese comes from happy cows and they come from California, I guess. Or a town near you.
Oh, brother.......

fine than! I will reject all the dogma known as laws! it was unfair of them to expect me to uphold impossible rules and regulations. if a salesman comes up to my door and will not leave, I should be able to blow his brains out. let us be free from the dogma of the law!
seems like good reason...

Who says it has to be without question? If you question something, and find it to be true, then to reject it for the sake of rejecting dogma is illogical.

never...
Do not be idolatrous about or bound to any doctrine, theory, or ideology, even Buddhist ones. All systems of thought are guiding means; they are not absolute truth.
Do not think that the knowledge you presently possess is changeless, absolute truth. Avoid being narrow-minded and bound to present views. Learn and practice non-attachment from views in order to be open to receive others' viewpoints. Truth is found in life and not merely in conceptual knowledge. Be ready to learn throughout our entire life and to observe reality in yourself and in the world at all times.
Do not force others, including children, by any means whatsoever, to adopt your views, whether by authority, threat, money, propaganda, or even education. However, through compassionate dialogue, help others renounce fanaticism and narrowness.
Do not avoid contact with suffering or close your eyes before suffering. Do not lose awareness of the existence of suffering in the life of the world. find ways to be with those who are suffering by all means, including personal contact and visits, images, sound. By such means, awaken yourself and others to the reality of suffering in the world.

Not really. 'Dogma' only finds a foot-hold where intellectual laziness supersedes natural\self inquiry. Blessings...

Allowing yourself to be led without question is dangerous and wrong. If you want to willingly follow them, fine, but atleast use your brain and follow because that's what YOU think is right.
Er. I guess this means I agree with you. Sorry. =)
