When I retired, I was an IDC. I was incharge of all the IDCs in3d Marine Air Wing. I had clinics in Yuma, Az, 29 Palms, Ca, Mira Mar, Ca and 2 at Camp Pendleton, Ca.. I'd mistakenly thought that I'd be welcomed with open arms. No one cared. It was as though I were speaking a foreign language. I went back to school. Had 147 Credits to transfer. They accepted only 36. None of my upper level courses -- they get more money for those courses. I was EVEN required to take a basic first aid course... I got fed up with th BS, switched majors and now, now, I groom dogs for a living.
Last month, I had to take my son to the E.R. for a REALLY nice head Lac. -- 6 sub Q, 12 on top. It only took three hours of waiting. It'd have been longer but I latched on to a nurse and told her that if the Doc was too busy, I'd do it myself and we'd be outta there in about 20 minutes. She got the Doc who then wanted to know why I have such huge nads. I told him. He was impressed. Not enough to get me a job though.
Seems that if the state were to credential me, then the universities would all lose money.
Are Navy Hms in high demand? Not really. If you're especially nice to them and a real good suck up, they might let you empty bedpans. You're more of a threat to the established hiarchy than an asset.
Me? I'll be pulling a little over $120K this year grooming dogs.

I went to the reserve center and they told me there is a bonus but of course i was prior active .

To the IDC: I thought that u can challenge the RN board when u are an IDC. I walked into a job at the local hospital on the job board it specifies for prereqs prior Corpsman/medic. But i know how you feel I am going to start goin to school and go for my MBA. I know alot of Corpsman that got out of medicine altogether.

The Navy takes things into account like GPA in High School and score on the ASVAB. Also if you have any civilian medical experience, esp if you are an EMT, Xray tech, or similar, that will help. If you have that kind of experience they do offer bonuses, otherwise???

To IDC Doc, I'm surprised, I know in California IDC's are allowed to take the LVN Board exam. It sounds like you are doing better moneywise now though.

corpsman is the final determination for you considering which you're going into nursing. the only ingredient that your recruiter stated that replaced into authentic replaced into the stuff already in writing. the ylove to vow fake sh!t. even regardless of the incontrovertible fact so you might have much less advantages, the IRR is probable extra suitable. maximum in all hazard in san deigo considering that there's an excellent military medical institution there. maximum male corpsmen get sent to FMSS. so in case you place up, that is going to maximum in all hazard be with the marines (which would be lots relaxing). in case you get stationed at san deigo you're able to get a activity on the medical institution there. I chosen energetic accountability over reserves, so I dont know how basic that is to bypass from energetic reserve to IRR.

if you are male, and you get HM as a reservist you WILL be going to FMSS, you don't have any other choice.

as a female, your options are limited.
