nothing or no one makes me go to church... I LOVE to go there and worship God.... where I can sing praises, and pray and be humbled before Him with other believers.... it is an awesome blessing that we have here to be able to actually gather and worship

Well nothing would "make" me, lol. The exception being God saying "get your butt to church!" Then I'd go. ;)
Seriously though, a great church experience for me would be one where I actually LEARNED something NOT born out of bigotry, hate, prejuidice, or fear. I don't want to go to church to learn to hate gay people or Catholic people, or Pagans, or Muslims, or anyone else. I'm not there to learn how to hate.
I'm there to learn how to love.
I'm there to learn how to handle grief, pain, frustration.
I'm there to understand a living and loving relationship with God that is not mired and bogged down with layers of guilt and self hate.
I'm NOT there to learn that everything I am, and everything I feel, everyhting I do, and everything I say, is a sin and I will go to Hell.
I would go for understanding, NOT condemnation.
I don't want to be told that women, children, Catholics, Muslims, Pagans, Buddhists, etc. are all inferior and wrong in every way.
I would go if Church were a peaceful, open, spiritual and intellectual discussion about faith, love and belief...where ALL are welcome---not be changed or told they are wrong, but there to be brothers and sisters in love and learning.
Unfortunately, I don't find many churches to be this way. I was raised Catholic, and so went to Mass. I have also attended at a Southern Baptist Church twice (it was AWFUL), and I have been to some Pagan service/rituals.
All of them had their good points. But those good points were ALWAYS clouded by their hatred for the others.
Sad.

If I felt that I couldn't talk with God in anyplace else. You are surrounded by a universe and more personally the Earth. What else do you need? Some group of people telling you what to believe and when? A man or woman directing your thoughts in the direction they feel is most worthy?
I sincerely believe that you are searching for your own dialog with a higher power. Please seek your answers from many avenues and then answer this very important question for yourself.
P.S. I would also attend any service in a church that my family or friends ask me to attend out of respect for their beliefs.

The only reason I attend church, when I do, is to socialize with others of my religion, to praise and worship God with other fellow christians and to feed my spirit. I dont believe a person has to attend church in order to be faithful, but it does help.

I've been before and it is not that bad, some guy gets on stage and talks about being good for like 30 minutes and then they pass around a basket so you can put some money in it and everyone is happy. I would go more except I can't wake up that early.

The people around me. I dont go to church because I want to. I used to go because my ex-wife wanted to go. I am not into the God thing as I dont see evidence that he exist. I dont see him helping me make choices and i dont see him doing anything about the choices I make...all I see is me.
As such, that means I am responsible for those choices, the outcomes (good, bad, indifferent) . This makes me in control of my destiny here on earth...after I die...who cares...I wont be alive to worry about it, I will just be worm feed for the dasies I push up.

If all effigies, church collateral, buildings and collections were in the name of humanism and the nurturing of our children - our future, and not spent worshipping some incredulous deity and preaching ficticious nonsense which encourages rage and war against another opposing religion.

Nothing. I have been attending church and there has been time in my life that I did not attend the church. I like it better when I am worshiping God regularly. I love it.

I would attend Church if I got something out of it. I've attended it in the past, and I've got nothing. It's not worth the visit.

Nothing would make me go to church. I go as a response to God's mercy and compassion. I want to go and don't need something to make me go.
