I think the word "religion" is mentioned only once or twice in the NT. Contrary to popular belief, God isn't too fond of religion. Satan on the other hand LOVES religion and really religious people.

I believe that in 1 Peter it states that a pure religion is one that takes care of the widows and the fatherless. Any religion or atheist could have this purity. However, the Bible states that there is only one way to heaven and that is through Jesus.

Yes.
It was the sons of Adam, those who dwelt with Enoch... It was Noah and his sons... It was the house of Abraham, the 12 tribes of Israel... It was the followers of Moses, and Elijah, and Jesus... It was the Church led by the 12 apostles.
What's the common thread?
A prophetic connection with heaven. God is only able to lead those who can have his will revealed to them. Any religion that has no prophet to speak God's words, that closes their book of scripture, and shuts God's mouth, is obviously out of contact with their Deity; and they are not his people.
There shall be "many false prophets" -- and amidst them all, there shall be a few true ones, as there was to lead God's people in the Bible. Look for the true messengers of God.

I only know 1 faith & 1 God. I think in the Bible there can possibly be more than one religion.

It is a mistake to call true Christianity a religion, even though most people do that.
It is a relationship with Christ and you go to church to learn and worship God together..
Christianity is the only way to end up in God's kingdom..

The Scripture that you used is in Ephesians 4:5. If you look in the same book in Chap. 1:22, 23 key words vs. 22 = "the church" vs. 23 " Which is his body...." according to these 2 verses " The church is his body " O.k. now back in 4:4 it says " THERE IS ONE BODY...." well if the church is his body an there is ONE BODY , that would make ONE CHURCH. Now here's where the rubber meets the road, when someone disagrees with that, I always have them to look at 4:4 - 6 an answer the question if ONE does not mean ONE then what does it mean. The scriptures says ONE SPIRIT, ONE LORD, ONE FAITH, ONE BAPTISM, ONE GOD if it means ONE for them, in context it has to mean ONE BODY WHICH MEANS ONE CHURCH. www.bible.ca

The Bible is Christian literature. Therefore is perpetuates the idea that Christianity is the true religion. Just like how the Torah says Judiasm is the true religion and thw Quran with Islam.

It does not.
On the contrary, the Bible indicates that there are many religions that worship the same God. It is hard for us to see because we are so out of touch with ancient religion and terminology. The God of Israel is identified as El, who was also the God of the Hittites and many other Semitic nations. God is referred to as Bel or Ba'al, the name of many Palestinian deities. The 'gods' of foreign nations are repeatedly identified as God in the Old Testament.
In the New Testament, the God of Hellenistic paganism (Zeus or Jupitar) is repeatedly identified as the God of Judaism and Christianity. The Apostle Paul advocates participation in pagan feasts at pagan temples, insists that God is the God of the Jews as well as the God of the pagans, claims that God manifests himself among the pagans as well as among the Jews, insists that Christianity is open to both Jews and pagans, says that the law of God is written on the hearts of the pagans, and even quotes approvingly from a Hymn to Zeus ("in him [Zeus] we live, move and have our being... for we are also his offspring").
Ancient Judaism maintained that Judaism was not the only valid religion, but that it was a "higher calling" for those who wanted a deeper appreciation of Deity and a better quality of life. Jews did not seek converts, and only allowed conversion after a long period of catechesis and examination.
Ancient Christians maintained that all salvation, regardless of your religion, was procured by Christ. The benefits of Christianity were extended to members of all faiths, regardless of whether or not they accepted Jesus or converted to Christianity. That was the "good news" or Gospel of the ancient Church. They also maintained that Christianity was a more "pure" expression of religious truth because it abandoned many of the superstitions found in other ancient pagan religious systems.
The idea that Christianity was the only valid religion is a relatively late invention, and only appeared when the other religious alternatives had virtually disappeared from popular culture. Late in the modern era Christian theologians writing in Greek and Latin refer to God as "Zeus" or "Jupiter," but modern translations render the names as "God" in English. Justin Martyr, for example, was one of the most important Christian theologians and apologists in the ancient Church, and he repeatedly refers to God as "Jupiter."
