The Bible mentions “generational curses” in several places (Exodus 20:5; 34:7; Numbers 14:18; Deuteronomy 5:9). It sounds unfair for God to punish children for the sins of their fathers. However, this is looking at it from an earthly perspective. God knows that sin is passed down from one generation to the next. When a father has a sinful lifestyle, his children are likely to have the same sinful lifestyle as well. That is why it is not unjust for God to punish sin to the third or fourth generation – because they are committing the same sins their ancestors did. They are being punished for their own sins, not the sins of their ancestors. The Bible specifically tells us that God does not hold children accountable for the sins of their parents (Deuteronomy 24:16).
There is a trend in the church today to try and blame every sin and problem on some sort of generational curse. This is not Biblical. The cure for generational curses is salvation through Jesus Christ. When we become Christians, we are new creations (2 Corinthians 5:17). How can a child of God still be under God’s curse (Romans 8:1)? The cure, then, for a generational curse is faith in Christ and a life consecrated to Him (Romans 12:1-2).

once you're a Christian you're already set unfastened from any curses. do no longer permit every physique permit you be attentive to in a distinctive way. in case you walk approximately questioning you're below a curse, like a placebo drug a physician provides a affected person, this is the style you will habit your existence. once you're a Christian you have been washed interior the blood of the lamb and all curses have been broken from you. All you may desire to do is walk in that victory. you're a baby of the main severe style and characteristic authority over the devil. Now walk like it. All this i've got stated basically applies once you're a Christian.

Generational curses are judgements passed through the family line as a result of the sins of forefathers. They do not bring eternal judgement but must be broken by Jesus blood
it is true that we are saved from sin when we accept Jesus as Lord. And yet there are times when there are areas that are hard to crucify, difficult to surrender.
We do not blame the devil for every sin, however in breaking generational curses, we remove strongholds, so that our freedom is complete.
Common example- addiction to drugs/ alcohol may be a generational curse if father, grandfather, and now brother have that issue. A generation curse is, in effect, reaping today what a prior generation has sown.
So, declare that issue, that curse, broken by Jesus blood and the power of His name.
Forgive your ancestors for that sin,
Bind the enemy from your life.
Declare that God will restore what was stolen (Joel 2;25)
Declare the door to that curse closed.
All involvement in that sin must be confessed to God, who is willing to forgive completely

In heathen terms:
1. Identify the nature of the curse.
2. Conduct a blot or faining in which you announce, OUT LOUD, your intent to break the curse to the godhs.
3. Call upon your ancestors from *before* the curse began to assist you in reshaping your fate.
Adapt to your circumstances/beliefs as needed. The underlying principles are the same.

It depends on what you mean by generational curse. To me I see that as no different than breaking the cycle of violence in one's family. You just have to be strong enough and have a value system that says it's wrong. My siblings and I were severely abused by my father, who was abused by his parents, etc. Yet we chose to break that cycle. We knew as children, even when we were being abused, that it was wrong and made the decision that we would not do that. Each of us have had children of our own and have learned how to parent without abuse. It just takes being strong and sometimes even reminding yourself that abuse is not discipline.
