Knowing that God, as defined by the Abrahamic religions (Christianity, Islam, Judaism, Bahai Faith, etc.) is:
Omnipotent - all powerful
Omniscient - all knowing
Omnibenevolent - all loving
Omnipresent - everywhere at once
Is it conceivable that God has failed to get his/her message across?
Consider this: according to www.adherents.com, only 51% of the people on this planet believe in God as defined by the Abrahamic religions. If God intends for "his children" to return home someday, and half of them never make it, every day, every year, every century, what does that say about God's capabilities? Did he make a mistake in choosing to dictate his words through the Bible, centuries ago, and not provide any follow up?
If you get a 51% on a school paper, what grade do you get?

And if you take it a step further, Christians will say that members of the other three faiths are not going. And I am sure they will tell you a lot of people who claim to be Christians, ie Catholics, Jehovah's Witnesses, Mormons, Seven Day Adventists, are not REAL Christians, so count them out, too. The number gets smaller and smaller. I would think a being who was almighty would be perfectly capable of writing in a clear concise style.

The 51% is more to do with peoples attitude toward God rather than the existence of a God or the effectiveness of his word. Remember, when Christ was on earth, he performed miracles, often in front of his enemies, but they chose to execute him.
Don't forget that 1 John 5:19 says that 'The world is lying in the power of the wicked one.' So there is also pressure upon people to chose a course of life contrary to the one recommended in the Bible.

He has not failed. He gave the people the option and is not responsible for the choice. He said choose faith, and people won't so it is there problem. He got the message through but just because people refuse to beleive it, doesn't mean that He did a bad job.
I once wrote a paper for school that said I believed in Creation and that was not what the textbook taught. I got a bad grade, but i got the message across that it was what i believed. Just because the teacher did not accept that i chose it, does not mean that i did not get the message through.

Your forgetting one thing, the devil is the ruler of this world and it is he who is misguiding the people. God has got his message across but people don't want to know the truth, it means they would have to alter their whole way of life. He gives us all freedom to choose he doesn't force anyone. If people are gullible enough to go against what the bible tells them then its their fault and not God's.and you shouldn't be so disrespectful. He has given us a lot to be thankful for ---LIFE. There are a lot of people who do know about his plan for us and if you keep talking like that you will end dying alone with the churches, governments and all the rest of the unbelievers at Armageddon which isn't far away.

I'm proud to be a part of the 51%. If it were 10%, that would be fine. Or if it were only 8 people like it was during Noah's time, that too would be fine. Obviously God doesn't look at numbers. It's the heart.

Hey Rob,
Excellent thoughts!
God hasn't failed to get his message across. Sadly many are frightened away from him by his own people.
How many do you see here on Yahoo Answers who dislike or disbelieve in God because Christians have mistreated them?
People are petty and hateful. We will use any and all tools to harm one another. Clothing. Race. Religion. Politics. Money.
Jesus himself says the sin of one who chases a child of God away from the church has a greater sin that the one who leaves. Yet so many christians are fond of telling others they are going to hell.
Perhaps you should make a point of regularly asking this until you get them to think abot that.
Of course the backlash may be that they try harder by telling MORE people they're going to hell. UGH!
That's just one of those things that I DO NOT understand. Jesus said preach the GOOD NEWS. Not the bad news.

Yes, Semper Fi, the church fails, or rather the religion fails, because the people failed the religion. It actually happened when the Episcopalians opened their doors to openly gay priests. Religion is about dogma, tradition. When you break from that tradition, you break everything about the religion. And while different sects could develop from this break, you will have weakened the religion as a whole. This is why it is important to always bear in mind that spirituality really is between an individual and their sense of Source -- not about their religion.

Some people are following their EGOs every commands and that is how they are going astray. It is people that are distancing themselves form their Creator, their wanton and wifull rejection of God's message. Every human carries this Shaitan (Satan) and this is the inner voice that leads astray.
In a world of Materialism and moral decay, the ones going astray are hearing that voice louder over the voice of the conscience. We are in troubled times but it is a test of our Faith and a purification process in a sense. Trust in God and see your EGO as your enemy and you should be OK, God willing.
Read this great article on the levels of the ego-self. Its an Islamic text. Just keep an open mind.

GOD doesnt force humans.we have a choice.
John 3:18[kjv]He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
its not GOD that has failed it is the one who has received word about JESUS but has rejected it[it doesnt have to be once sometimes people reject once and later might come to faith so we cant really say when it is the last chance] and died without JESUS that has failed.GOD never fails.
tell u what if u get 90% in school u will get grade A hopefully but if u dont get 100% u will not enter heaven and that 100% can only be meet by having JESUS in our life.
2 Corinthians 5:21[kjv]For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.
JESUS loves you.Have u recieved JESUS for the forgiveness of your sins?
John 3:16[kjv] For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
so when we believe in JESUS we have eternal life.JESUS lived a sinless life and gave up his life as a sacrifice so we can be sin free. Ask JESUS to come into your heart and forgive ur sins and cleanse ur past with the blood JESUS shed on the cross.
With a simple prayer like above u can be saved.JESUS loves u and wants u to be saved.
