I try to just ignore it or grow form it by realizing that some people are just jealous. Oh, and I don't know why I'm saying this here, but you people should know that you are only Jewish if your mother was Jewish because her mother was because her mother was. There aren't any half Jews or quarter Jews. You either are or you are not.

Yes I am Jewish. When I hear people say that, they almost NEVER think that there is a Jew around who heard it, and are mostly very shocked when they realise that a Jew was actually there and heard it, and isn't sitting there taking it, either.
Usually I say "EXCUSE ME? I'm Jewish, you want to tell me what the F*** you're talking about there?"
At that point they usually fumble around and stumble on their words because they weren't expecting a Jew to overhear their stupidity. Then I ask them if they even KNOW any Jews (no, they never do), or if they are just vomiting up ignorant bullshit that they've been fed.
Then I tell them what a disgusting excuse for a human being they are, and warn them that if I EVER hear anything like that from their ignorant mouth again I'll report them for a hate crime.
If they apologise then I'll usually give them some information that will educate them about Jews and Judaism, but I doubt this really does any good.
These people are really, really stupid and hateful animals who cannot think for themselves for the most part, and need something to hate, and guess what, Jews are always an easy target especially since there are rarely, if ever, any Jews around these people to hear their ignorant spouting.
Usually it's a family thing, they've been brought up by ignorant, stupid, thick-headed gentiles who have a tradition of hating Jews. Usually these people are lower-class, working poor, etc. who believe that all Jews are rich and own the media and the banks and other stupid, ignorant crap like that.
Call em on it, every time you hear it.
But first you need to be educated in Antisemitism and the main points haters always use, and how to refute them as the lies they are. So do that FIRST, then you will be well armed to confront these idiots if you decide to do that in the future. And take Martial Arts, it can't hurt.
These people are really the stupid of our society, the thickheaded idiots with IQs about 50 points lower than anyone else, for the most part. Not that there aren't intelligent people out there who are also antisemites - there are those too, but those are usually in the minority in the US anyway.
Here is a great little seminar called "Why The Jews?" that is well worth reading.

Here is a good article that lists a bunch of resources to counter antisemitism and understand where it comes from. Also please DO speak with a rabbi about it if you need to, they have much experience on this.

There is also a new form of Antisemitism out there, that this article discusses - you'll need to be aware of this too, as it's growing fast:

Do you mean someone who practices Judaism or someone of Jewish heritage or both? I'm part Jewish. They're probably saying stuff like that because the Jews killed Jesus. You can say that you had no control over what your ancestors did and what they said offended you. If it's on Yahoo! Answers, you can just report them. I don't need to do anything since I'm not full Jewish and no one says anything. No one has called me the n-word either.

When I went to high school a classmate of mine came up to me and said that he was a member of the KKK, that he hates Jews, and wants to shoot us all. I asked him if he believed in Jesus and went to church, and he said he did. I then informed him that Jesus was Jewish. He turned around and walked away, never saying another word to me.
Since then, I have not encountered anything as vile, but I do hear some antisemitic comments here and there. Sometimes I ignore them, and sometimes I am more confrontational, depending on the situation.
My advice to you is to judge the situation and see which approach would work in which case.
I suppose there is really not ONE right answer to this question...

I've never heard anyone say or post anything like that. It's usually the other way around - people are very reluctant to criticize Jews because they respond with name-calling. "Anti-semite" used to refer to people who used slurs against Jews; now the term is a slur used by Jews against anyone who doesn't think they should be above criticism. Thus they can attack Catholicism all they like - often using vitriolic language - but if we defend our faith and our beliefs by countering these attacks - like Hyam Maccoby's - then instead of arguing a point with logic,Jews just resort to name-calling - the favorite being "anti-semite". And yet they deny they consider themselves above criticism! However,if I heard someone say "damn Jew" I would certainly admonish them; it's bigotry, plain and simple. But I don't think it's a big problem since the 60's - the problem today is Jewish people being able to slur anyone they don't like as an "antisemite" -Ii put it in quotes since it is usually a false accusation.

I don't see very many Jews on here, although I know there are some. I'm not Jewish, but if someone is saying something you find truly offensive about your faith, just report them.

I'm not jewish, but I have a great deal of respect for your faith and culture. I don't like it when people say those things, and I'll speak up in a heartbeat when I hear it.

Ignore them. I'm not Jewish, but I have been called a n*gger, so let life sort people like that out. There's only so much that you can do, and saying "f8ck you" isn't going to help.

Yup. Here.
Honestly, a quick, pointed "f*** You" can go miles. These people generally don't mean harm or injury, their just ignorant. Let them know, and I'm sure they'll learn a bit. Arguments are long winded, violence unhelpful, but a quick verbal jab can bring things back to the real world.

I flag and block them and, more often than not, respond to what they say with a yawn and a comment indicating the inadequancy of their brains or other parts. I'm not kidding--some part of their anatomy is clearly too small for them to be making such comments. And I'm **very** thorough in monitoring R&S for such people.
