I hope they lose their tempers. That means they're really listening to what we're saying. Eventually, once they get past their emotional distress at the fact that we don't hold their superstition in as high esteem as they do, they may actually starting to get what we're saying.
As far as giving God a chance, I did. That's why I left Christianity. You'd be surprised how much more that atheists know about Christianity than the average Christian.

No, YOU will never get it. I don't want to be made fun of because I can't accept that everything that I was taught is wrong and I stubbornly keep holding on to something that is not real. You sound ridiculous. Why do I need doctrines to guide me? It's like traveling somewhere and sightseeing or going on an expedition, but all you do is look at the map. You don't even lift your head up once, and all the pretty things are around you and you miss everything. I don't think you should have the right to call yourselves Christians, because the word Christian comes from Christ. Christ-ian! Unless you become Christ-like, you shouldn't be called Christian. Isn't the ultimate goal of all religions to become enlightened, or Christ-like, or Buddha-like? Christ had nothing to guide him and yet he wasn't lost. Your head is full of bible gibberish to "guide" you, and yet you're lost! Why should I even consider YOUR religion, when there are so many others? So after all this ends up being all about business. Buy OUR stock, not theirs. We offer a better deal. They will only take your money. Now, where am I wrong?

Well i guess its what we do with that temper that counts the most...
I was reading a very sobering portion in the word regarding us as believers standing before the judgement seat of CHrist to account for how we worked for the Lord and our works will be tried by fire... One thing that i was reading in a footnote was that our Temper and our Lust ( not just sexual but material etc) can cause us to be found wanting on that day.....really sobered me up
This caught me...
Yes we are in the process of transformation and the Lord is working on us inwardly to conform us to the Image of Christ.. this takes a lot of time and our opening up of our being to the Lord...
I am not saying its right to loose our temper... but we have to realize that with each temptation the Lord has made a way OUT for us.. He is our WAY...
SOmetimes its that one time that we loose it that the enemy has a finger to point to us.. even when we ask for the LOrd's cleansing the guilt can be used by satan to ensnare us.
Satan is out to shut our mouths and if the shame of our loosing or temper will do it then he is a pro at setting the environments to do just that... destroying our testimony and damaging the Lord's name that we bear as Christ-ians

Of course not, you are only human. You still have a choice whether you lose your cool or not. If you are a Christian, the Bible tells you to become Christ-like...so do it. But, even Jesus lost his temper. (remember?) Then again, he was only human.
Furthermore, telling an atheist to give something they simply do not believe in is a waste of time.
P.S.~ It's ok...just have a great day!

Don't beg it only makes you look worse. Your god is real to you and a few others but to others theirs is the real deal and yet to others no god exists. I am with the group that doesn't believe in a god or gods why cause a god would require a point of generation and therefore no more significant than you or me.(just another life form not pure, not good, not perfect and of no greater importance as far as life goes.) Let me worry about my own being, I am definitely not worried about all the time you are wasting.
If god existed why isn't the world more perfect? because no god exist only life that struggles to rule over others.

Why wouldn't people to expect those who profess to follow Christ to act a little more like he told you to?
I'm not an Atheist and not lost but I definitely would expect a Christian to act like a Christian..

Why do you persist that this is merely one sided?? It isn't just atheists pushing the christians. Its EQUAL on BOTH sides of this! Why is this so difficult to comprehend? You want everyone to believe the way that you do, but they have looked at your faith and found no truth in it for themselves, just as you have looked at their beliefs and found no truth in it for yourself. So WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE?
PS - Joyce, you need to read your bible some more. Christ got incredibly pissed off with people changing money in the temple and kicked them out, throwing their stuff around, flipping over tables and the such like. Look it up

Ah - rationalization at its finest.
If you were to take responsibility for your actions (instead of saying "I'm a horrible person and I only hope that someday God will forgive me because I'm not worthy of his love, so it's okay that I behave badly because I'll beg for forgiveness and everything will be okay except I still won't be worthy because I'm a worthless human being who doesn't deserve God's love"), you might realize that YOU have control over your actions and that you're really not the horrible, sinful person that your religion says you are.
It saddens me to see how many people have the "We're not worthy!" mentality and such incredibly low self-esteem that they don't see anything wrong with calling themselves "wretches".

Why bother to answer these Questions? So you won't come about to loose your temper. If you don't put a fence around your inner garden people will eventually just walk over it.
Jesus told us to tell others about him, he did not say convince them to believe in me.

I expect myself to keep my temper when people say that I'm a wretch, that my life is worthless and I'm not raising my kids right. I keep my temper when people say that I am lost, immoral and spiritually empty.
Try to be more like me.
