No, mbs.. it isn't.. freewill is a fantasy.

To say choose me or die is not a choice.

Freewill was meant to show us that we can not do it alone. It shows us that we are unable to make the right decisions if given a choice. Freewill shows that man is innately evil given the choice. It is a test of mankind, and those who choose good over evil even given freewill. "Let him without sin throw the first stone." A stone would never be thrown in that case.

Sin is defined as missing the mark of what is good. Heaven is defined as union with God, He who is all good.

If one is in heaven and unified with He Who is all good, then how can one miss the mark as to what is good?

Maybe the inability to sin in heaven is due more to the nature of the goodness of God in whom one will be in communion and by whom one will be completely illuminated instead of a limit on one's freewill.

So, to answer the question, no, the inability to sin in heaven is not necessarily due to a cancelation of freewill nor is it some sort of admission that freewill is supposedly a "mistake."

if you've made it to heaven, you've been transformed from the base creature we are on earth to a much improved version.. no hunger, no thirst, no pain, no illness, and probably will no longer have the desire to sin, since that would have been purged. does that make free will a mistake? no... the choice to follow Jesus was made deliberately, in spite of the world's oppositions, the devil's machinations, and the atheists' spite, because it would be so easy and comfortable to avoid ridicule, derision, hate, resentment (just read any atheist question here) the choice to persevere will be rewarded.

Free will is the ability to choose among your desires. In heaven, we do not have conflicting nor immoral desires. Our will is always free.

BTW, I am leaving for Montana for six weeks or so. Hope we can catch up when I get back.

Excellent question little squirrel. Of course free will is a mistake. It results in billions of souls being tortured and burned for an eternity. No concept, even free will, justifies that.

Not at all. It just means your fleshy body is no longer here on the earth where it is subject to commiting sin.

Very thought provoking. If I believed in god this would be a real head scratcher for me.

That does not make sense- we still have free will to choose heaven or hell.
