Genuinely. What's the point of Earth? If human-beings are meant to live here for about 70 years and then move on to another existence, why not cut out life on Earth and bring people straight in to heaven or hell? It seems as if it's a way for human beings to deal with death, instead just accepting death as a part of life.

This isn't an attack. I am curious to know why people believe Earth is a necessary step in making it to heaven or hell.

I'm surprised to get such little feedback. Where are religious when you need them?

If God already knows who we are before we're born, and already knows if we're going to hell or not...why put us through a game that is rigged if he already knows who is going to win?

Think of it this way, earth is like a filter in order for God to truly know who will love Him or reject Him. The bible says that God knew us all before the foundations of the earth. That means that we, like God in a sense, are eternal beings. However, in the place where God knew us before, we loved Him because to love Him was all we knew to do. It was our very make up. God wants to know who would really love Him and how far they would be willing to trust Him if they were not predispositioned to do so. It's like all the people that hang around famous celebrities. Most of them just hang around just to see what they can get from celebrities but don't care for them at all. So I believe this life on earth, in part, is about a soul inhabiting a body for the purpose of loving God despite the pain, ills, trials etc that we face here. And even though God knows the outcome, I believe He still places us here to give us a chance at heaven.

They are never too specific about what Heaven will be like. A good conman doesn't give too much detail. Instead, they'll let the mark think up, for himself, how great the payoff will be.

No one has ever come back from Heaven to tell us, so it must be a pretty great place. I do not have the mind of God, so I cannot answer your question, except to say this, God had His own reason for earth's existence. Ours is not to reason why, ours is just to live and die, and live again.
