First check if your sound cable from your speakers is hooked up to the appropriate jack on the computer. If that doesn't work then you're probably gonna have to buy a new sound card. They cost about $29.99 at staples or bestbuy. Installing them is easy the box has a manual in it. Or the other problem could be that you turned the volume up to high and blew out your speakers. I would try buying those first. You could buy a pair at biglots for like $6.95 or so. I hope that helps you out.

If you go to start - all programs - accessories - system tools - system information - components, click on the '+' - that'll tell you the sound device driver details. Hopefully you'll be ok from there. Just look up the details via a search engine & muck through. Good luck.

Here, Princess. Download the required driver from the site given below. I think you'll find that it's the 8th one down on the list. (It does say it's for NT 4.0, but I think you'll find that it will work with Windows XP too.)

There's also a Windows 98SE driver on the second url below, but apparently it works with Windows XP too. (You may need to register with DriverGuide.com, but it's free, and there are hundreds of thousands of drivers available on that site.)

You can get the driver from the creative labs website, just download it after searching on google.

you need to download the sound card driver from driver magic.com(free download).I lost the sound on my pc after a massive crash, found irt easier to just buy a new all in one sound card, real cheaply from local comp shop £19.........But try downloading the correct driver from the above site first, then when its fully downloaded,do a reboot and all should be well.....good luck
