Science continues to disprove events and statements of the bible. Various other religions contridict Christianity and each other. If Christianity is true, no other religion can be true. If any other religion is true, Christianity cannot be true. Other religions have as much or more foundation as Christianity. There is the theory that no religions are true and that religion was created by society as a foundation for morality and a means for people to live in organized society. This would explain the different religions in different parts of the world. These are the theories that I struggle to accept, and I've never encountered a definate answer.

What in science has disproved things in the Bible?

Science cannot explain everything in life.

"Science continues to disprove events and statements of the bible."

That is a false premise. No scientific FACT has ever contradicted any thing that is CLEARLY taught in the Bible. People can argue about how old the earth is for instance but the Bible doesn't come out and say how long ago God created the earth. People have to try and figure that out by looking at a lot of different passages and getting out their calculators and the whole time they are ignoring the fact that the Scriptures they are using are things like a list of ancestors that may not be exhaustive.

When it comes to Biblical stories that mention people and places time and again scientists have pooh-poohed the existence of these ancient cultures claiming that there was no evidence that such a culture existed and then some years later the evidence turns up and once again the Bible was right and the scientists were wrong.

Here is just one of many links that demonstrate this point.

As to other religions contradicting Christianity all that proves is the law of non-contradiction. Two statements that oppose each other cannot both be true. The Bible teaches that mankind cannot find God. God has to reveal Himself to us. That only makes sense since He is a Spirit and not to be found here on earth in a physical form. The Bible also teaches that we are imperfect beings and that on our own we cannot live up to God's perfect standard of righteousness. That's why Jesus said that He was "the way, the truth, & the life". Jesus is the way because He came down from Heaven and He lived a perfect sin free life that He laid down in a public sacrifice to atone for our sins.

All other religions teach that a person has to do certain things to find God and to be justified in his sight. Jesus taught that apart from Him we can do nothing and that He is the only way to be saved.

Actually science has yet to disprove anything in the Bible and in fact archeology is proving more and more events given in the Bible every day . Many scientists have set out to try and disprove the Bible , and instead learn to believe it after failing . Much scientific theory has been thrown out the window over the years , but the Bible still stands like a rock . Science is still learning what the Bible already knows . Science works in perfect harmony with the Bible . As we move forward to more and more knowledge ,Bible history is proved repeatedly . More and more scientific theory is thrown out and more scientists are coming to believe in God .

You've nailed it:

If Christianity is true, no other religion can be true. If any other religion is true, Christianity cannot be true. ...There is the theory that no religions are true and that religion was created by society as a foundation for morality and a means for people to live in organized society.

That last one is the only answer that explains the diversity of superstitious belief.

Or maybe science can be right in dealing with things concerning science and the material world, and the Bible (never meant to be taken in a literalist sense) can be right in dealing with the truths concerning salvation.

Don't absolutize the Bible or science. The only absolute is God.

"The Bible says how to go to heaven, not how the heavens go." -Gallileo Gallilei

By the way, certain scientist might claim to disprove religion, but that is a claim they really can't make. They might disprve a literalist interpretation of the Bible (and really it wasn't scientists who did that but scripture scholars) but they can never say God doesn't exist.

Also, remember, there is no magical consensus in science. There are just as many,if not more, debates on the different ways of looking at the world in science as there are different theologies and philosophies in religion.

answer this...if you have a tumor and either the advances in technology or prayer to save you which one would it be. i think the logical way would to chose the technologies that were created by scientific developements.
i would chose science for the reason so many religions have been created by some random *** people 2000 years ago. this is how the bible came to be. some guy just started writing stuff down for people to build a belief structure upon. there is no logical proof to support the bibles writings.

Science is not exact but faith is. Science is busy trying to prove and disprove and when there is no answer they call it a theory. Faith in God relies on a heart commitment to believing Him with or without proof. Some might think this is foolish but I think it is even more foolish to take the THEORY that says man evolved from an ape and then teach it to millions of school children. My question is, since the dawn of time horses have produced horses, cows have produced cows, chickens...chickens and so forth. If there was ever a monkey that produced a man where is it now? And who will say that their ancestry is riddled with apes?

Science doesn't conflict with the message of the Bible. It couldn't, first of all because truth cannot conflict with truth, and secondly because the message of the Bible does not fall within the purview of science. Of course some obvious scientific truths do conflict with some Christian groups' private interpretations of the Bible, but so what? That just demonstrates the inadequacy of personal biblical interpretation as a means of defining truth - a fact that is also clearly demonstrated by the thousands of confliting denominations and general doctrinal chaos that prevails among those who arrempt to define truth by that unbiblical means.

There are no conflicts between science and scripture, although misunderstanding have occured,as with Galileo; the verse is question translated into Latin as "circle' when in Aramaic it actually said "sphere". An easy mistake to make, but it actually confirms - once the flawed translation is detected - the scientific validity of the Bible. Unless you're saying the world isn't a sphere?

the ultimate schism!

what is right - religion or science???

Here is something to ponder:

High ranking officials on both sides have gotten to a point in their lives and research that they convert over.

for instance - you get to a point in science where you just cant explain things. Divine intervention?

or you have known the cannon all your life. Yet after much study of historically correct events to see how your faith was created you realize that your beliefs are at best mythology and see why science is so crucial.

The ultimate Schism as they say.

Good question

That is why you have a mind to find your own path. I chose to be an atheist and now I found out I am not alone in my path. No one can actually say theists are wrong or atheist are wrong but we can choose the path that suits us. After all it's your life.

Who know's it could be religions where started to cover up how far we actually have progressed in the name of science.
