I would keep a close eye on him. If he continues to limp or shows a lot of pain take him to the vet.
My dog slipped on water while running on our deck next to the pool. He ran into the railing and split the skin between two of his claws. It did not seem to bother him so I just cleaned it and put some neo-sporin on it. He is fine. It happened 3 weeks ago.

OKEY!Take your cat, and wrap his hurt paw in ace bandage, with cotton wrapped around the inside, so it wont get irritate.
Pick up your cat and put him in either a small, but comfy blanket, or a pillow case. Take one or his toys, so he wont get scared in the vet.
Lay him gently in the front seat of the car and drive to the local vet. They will probably either say" it will heal up soon, ill give you meds. for it", or "ow, how did this happen, how long ago, we need to give hi stitches", or something like that. No matter what they say, after you are done at the vet, go to petsmart and buy some booties for his paw. cover the hurt paw with the bandage with the bootie. It will make it easier for him to limp or walk.
Hope I helped, and I hope he is ok!

You should certainly take him to the vets. Cats are excellent at hiding pain, even from fractures. The cut also needs to be looked at - cuts on pads are highly likely to be infected, if not by bacteria from the ground then bacteria from your cat's mouth as he licks it (it's an annoying myth that animal's lick their wounds to heal them - they do it for comfort and it can cause infection).
Your cat has an injury and has had a fall - as a responsible owner it's your duty to have him checked out by a vet, as there's no way of telling for yourself what his injuries are or what they're going to lead to.

I think you should definitly bring it to the vet! my friend had a guinea pig. And i'm not sure if it was because it was old or not but the same thing happened to it and the next week it died. It may have been because it was an old guinea pig, 5 human years. But i think that even if it wasnt serious you should go. Even if your cat is not fataly ill, it probably still hurts really bad.
Good Luck!

I would give the vet a call first and ask someone there about it. If it needs medical attention they will tell you to bring in the cat otherwise they will tell you what to do at home for your cat and if that doesn't help then to bring the cat in. I have called the vet twice and both times they told me what to try first.

I think you should definitely take your cat to the vet, just to be sure. 12 steps is a long distance to fall for a cat.
Good luck.

Yes, of course he must go to the vet! Please take him as soon as you can so that you can get him treated for a potential infection, and get his paw checked out to make sure he didn't injure himself yesterday.

you should take him just to be on the safe side. you dont want his paw to get infected then have to pay tons of money just to get him better. it is a good idea to make sure nothing is broken so please take the kitty to the vet.
