initially, i would take this as a compliment. after thinking about it, whether it is a compliment or not is relative to what the other women at the lake looked like. it's like coming in second place when there are only two or three contestants. hmmm...or like when my mom asks my dad "how do you like my new haircut?" and he replies "different." very non-committal. it seems like your hubby was unsure how to say what he was thinking and therefore you are unsure of how he really feels. hey, i know it's confusing and you can do a double take afterwards because my boyfriend tends to communicate like that, too. what i do? when my boyfriend gives me that kind of an answer, i immediately ask (in a kinda playful but serious way) "what is THAT supposed to mean?" which gives him a chance to explain without me jumping on him if i take it the wrong way. hope this helps. if you still feel unsure, look on the bright side and take it as an 80% compliment, tell him "thank you!!", smile, and feel good about yourself.

Kind of. But then that means he thinks 20% of the women there looked better than you. I prefer answers like, "you're the only beautiful woman I see." My guy's the romantic type, the kind that will only see me. If he were to say something like that, I'd get a little hurt that he would think someone looks better than me lol.

He probably meant it as a compliment but he could have been a bit wiser with his wording. Men just do not obsess over such things like women do. Mars and Venus and all that other stuff is true!

well almost everyone has someone uglier and prettier than them and if he's right, your on the upper hand! if he's your bf then he shud have said hotter than 100% of the girls here. if he is then that is not a compliment and if he isnt, then it is.
