Vista Help?

We recently bought a computer that came with Vista. (which so far I have hated) Anyway, my daughter has lots of PC games that Vista doesn't seem to be compatable with. They worked fine when we had Windows XP. Does anyone know if there is something I need to download in order for Vista to allow my daughter to play her games?

Yes, check with the developer of the games. Go to their website. Many of them have released patches to make them compatiable. You could always put XP back on as well.

Vista is not compatible with a lot of old xp games
so in order to play the games you have to buy new games that can be played on vista
or use the windows xp for games and this computer for other purposes

I have a suggestion, I have Vista also, and I had the same problem. I found out that Vista and Macaphee are not compatible, and nothing worked right on my PC until I got a different anti-virus program. Now everything works better...but until they come out with programs meant for Vista, it won't be perfect. Hope this helps- Good luck!

You might try right clicking on the icon and selecting "Compatibility Mode".

Also, you are going to want to turn off "User Controls". To do this, click: Start/Control Panel. The switch is located at the bottom of the right screen.

check the games maufactures site for paches

not at the moment i would go to each gamers website and see if there are patches for each game and ifthere are not then there isnothing you can do
