I can't imagine why that would be a problem she did rsvp for 2 and besides she will need moral support since shes newly single at a wedding for crying out loud.

I think your fine. It would be diff if you were bringing your same-sex bf or gf and the family didn't approve.
Have fun. Do a chicken dance and cheer up your friend :)

Perfectly especially since she has already RSVP'd for 2 and they have probably already paid for the catering for 2. I would rather have someone bring someone else then who she/he had originally said was going rather then go solo if they have already RSVP'd for 2. Hope this helps :)

especially if she already rsvp'd for 2.. couple is going to pay for a dinner anyway.. might as well be someone there to eat it! besides that tho.. its absolutely acceptable! my brother in law was our best man (only 17tho) and brought one of his buddies to the wedding as his guest

Yes, of course. Its very rude of them to stipulate what type of guest someone can bring, she could bring her dog as long as her invite stated "& Guest"

Since she RSVPd for two, it is acceptable if her invitation indicated two people were invited in the first place.

Of course its okay - her invitation probably said "so and so and guest." Its up to her who the guest is! Go and have fun!

If the invitation read her name and her boyfriend's name, then he was the one invited, not you. If the invitation was in her name 'and guest' it is up to her who that friend is.
If in doubt, have your friend call the bride and see if this is acceptable to her.
