I've heard people talk about 'topical ointments' but really don't know what they are. Can you use them on sunburn?

Hi! A topical ointment is any medicated cream that you put on your skin. Not to be taken internally. I have found that aloe vera gel (the green stuff) is excellent for sunburn.

Use a spray on sunburn treatment. It will hurt less.

Neosporin would be a topical ointment.

It is an ointment applied to the surface of the skin and not ingested. Suntan oils, lotions, creams, etc. are all topical.
