I know too much about logic and other religions to return to the "Christianity" in which I was raised. Without evidence for God, I'm not going to start looking for him. If we applied that idea to every unknown possibility, we'd constantly be spending our time looking for flying hedgehogs and Santa Claus, and the same is true even if we only search out "God" in religion. There are too many possibilities.

So what I'm seeing is many Christians accusing me and others of sin simply because we do not search for God. Shall I accuse you of sin for not searching for Satan, Krishna, Allah, the Budda nature, etc?

These points have been made over and over again, but my question remains:

How is it my fault?

Yes, I've already decided to live my life. I'm really addressing the people who are preaching at me.

STJC: "The truth is if you went to a Spirit filled church for a few months you would completely change your mind and want to serve God."
Sorry, I tried that. And you know, there's still no proof. My mind does not allow emotions to decide everything. This is typical of people who don't understand others or their own little spheres of experience.

Uncannydanny: I believe I said I know too much about LOGIC and OTHER RELIGIONS, not that I know everything about everything. Good job putting words in my mouth.

As to how one finds evidence without seeking, that's a good point. See my equally good point concerning Santa Claus and other gods. I've already done some searching and analyzing, and I've determined that there is no proof for God's existence, therefore I am not going to accept him. I allow for the possibility, but nothing more.

I actually shouldn't have thrown Buddha in there with the rest of them - though I actually said the Buddha nature, not Buddha the man - but now we get to see how little others know about the other religions.

Let me just say again that I do not know God is not there. I also don't know he is.

FLITCH: I appreciate your approach, but the site you provided is not very good. Even if all its points were accurate (they aren't), it would still not prove God. Consistency of opinions and (so-called) facts does not mean everything is true or proven.

=42: Invalid opening point. You quote a Pope, who is not God and does not speak for everyone. It's his own approach, but obviously people take it different ways. Is it fair to say that, since most people don't agree with him, they aren't Catholic? I'm not so sure.

gem: Your answer is kind-hearted and well-meaning, I think, so I will respond in kind as well as I can, given what I have to say.

You say that God does not want me to seek him, but is it not seeking God to read the Bible? I have read much of it and am still not satisfied. Furthermore, I'm aware of many (though I'm sure not all) of the false doctrines by which I was raised, but I can see the good points of Christianity. I believe the scriptures hold contradictions, but even this is irrelevant. When it comes right down to it, I have no proof that God exists. Even if I had that, there would be no proof that it is the God of the Bible who exists. I can appreciate some of true Christianity's wisdom, but I feel that a "religion" like Buddhism has much more.

You have your own logic and understanding. You can do whatever you want to. We all will be alone infront of God, so it doesn't concern anyone if you seek God or not. Those people are just preachers!

It is illogical to believe that all we see around us came about by happenstance. There is just too much diversity and interdependency for there not to be a Creator.

It may not be entirely your fault that you do not wish to seek God. If God does not call you in this age, He will give you an opportunity after the second resurrection to learn about Him.
It really is that simple, all the searching in the world is useless if God is not calling you. Perhaps He is just not calling you at this time. I do not know. I do know that Satan will pay for his share in decieving you to sin and reject God (If indeed that is what you are doing), and you will pay for your part in sinning and rejecting God. All of us are subject to a judgement. Some now, some later.

However, from this post and previous posts, you have shown that you have read the Bible, so I am sure you have an inkling of what sin is. Just because God will give you an opportunity later for repentance does not mean that there will not be consequences for rejecting Him.

For your comfort, no human has the right to condemn you. A person could show where your beliefs and attitudes were wrong according to the Bible, but only God knows what He plans for you.

Just making the statement you make shows you are looking for something! and who is accusing you of sin? You have no more sin than anyone else unless you have murdered or raped or stole, or lied, but even then the door is open to turn around if you don't continue on the same course.
Searching for God isn't the reason people should look. Serching for the causes of life? All the time we live we want the answers as to why we are here? why we die? and why we have such a strong desire to live? and why we tend to kill each other? If you stopped jumping around with a little bit of knowledge concerning so many different beliefs. and studied what the Word of God says, you might find the answers as to why you have no desire to seek the Lord. He doesn't want people to seek him in the first place, He wants people to use the scriptures to find out the truth about his father and the plans his father has for the earth and mankind. (which includes you)
I speak to you as a earthly friend and seek no gain by talking to you. It's not your fault that you feel the way you feel, it's the fault of the religious leaders that mis-lead people down a road to destruction. They confuse people with their doctrines, the doctrines of men. And they live off these people by tickling their ears and taking their money. and people are like sheep and follow without testing these doctrines. What do I know that you don't know. I know how to test. Do you want to learn how to test? We both have Logic and I think we both wont fall off the turnip truck too many times? (Proverbs 1:5) . . .A wise person will listen and take in more instruction, and a man of understanding is the one who acquires skillful direction,

Only God can define what sin is, not Buddah, Allah, (SATAN?!!) (false gods)
You reject Jesus Christ, Son of the True Living God. You don't see evidence because you don't truly seek Him.
God has told you over and over again about His Son, in His Word, and time and again you are rejecting Him. There will come a time when He won't let you have anymore chances. Then, it will be too late. If you choose to reject Him, then that is your choice. But, the Bible says that is your fault. It is the word of God. We didn't make that up. Read the Word, and find out!!
There is only ONE GOD! The others are imposters! You are seeking your own desires. To find God, you have to lose yourself! If you are not willing to do that, you won't find the truth.

You never knew God and the Christianity that you were raised in was lacking and not of Christ. If you deny Christ and have heard the gospel, then maybe you have been turned over to a depraved mind for continually denying the Lord. You've done one thing correctly and that is putting Satan, Krishna, Allah and Buddha all in one category.

To deny Christ after hearing the gospel of Jesus Christ, you cannot be held blameless by Almighty God. I pray that the Lord will draw you to Him. If not, you are lost for eternity. There is always the prayer - Lord have mercy upon me.

Well if you don't search for Him, how do you know that He's not really there? If you really found Him, you'd feel Him. And that's all the evidence you should need! Although speaking of that subject, there is evidence of the Bible found everywhere!

I hope you take the time to read the above. That should answer A LOT of your questions. Good luck and I hope someday you will find the True Light! ;)
GOD BLESS ALL!

Some Christians forget that it is not their role to convict anyone of sin. That is the work of the Holy Spirit. Very few set out to deliberately find God but I believe that the Holy Spirit will touch each one of us at some time in our lives. Our response to Him will determine whether we find God or not. However, as Christians we have been called to let the world know what God's word says.

God has to start exercising some control over the religions who have turned God into a competitive business. If God didn't want other religions taking people away from Christianity, I mean, come on...

There is nothing for you to be at fault about. God doesn't exist - never has. And it is shameful that any religion point the finger at someone for not believing. Believing in what?

To quote Richard Dawkins:

"Some people have views of God that are so broad and flexible that it is inevitable that they will find God wherever they look for him. One hears it said that 'God is the ultimate' or 'God is our better nature' or 'God is the universe.' Of course, like any other word, the word 'God' can be given any meaning we like. If you want to say that 'God is energy,' then you can find God in a lump of coal."

There are too many gaps in nature and history that are proclaimed to be the result of God. Funny that the inexplicable credit is given to God. How convenient.

Believe in you.

Cheers.

According to Pope John Pauls encyclicals (from that nasty catholic religion you say you know lots about) if you honestly, (deep down to your toes)) honestly do not consider something a sin, then it is not a sin in the eyes of God. Don't believe in the Christian concept of God ? Don't think that is sinful ? Fine, it's not a sin.Just remember, if the theories are correct, you will one day be judged on your honesty, and if the Christain God exists, you wont be able to stooge Him.

You have a choice, but you can't put God in a box. He is not somthing you can think out and figure out. It is called faith. Faith is somthing you must have to want God. If you don't want God then you won't have faith. The truth is if you went to a Spirit filled church for a few months you would completely change your mind and want to serve God.
