My husband and I are celebrating our 34th anniv. tomorrow. I really believe that he is happy when I give him the emotional support and respect he deserves. I do this best by dwelling on the positive characteristics he has. When he knows that his efforts as a husband are appreciated, his faithfulness and love for me is enhanced. We have learned to have honest communication. When we are misunderstood or hurt, we let it be known.
However, we both feel that happiness is not the main goal of marriage. The commitment, love and respect it takes to keep a marriage strong, is an ongoing process. There are really tough circumstances we've gone through with health, finances & parenting strains. Being able to work through these, even when our "happiness" is not at the peak, makes us strong like oak trees, bending with the wind but depending on the root system of commitment, love and respect.

it is a good start
because if momma is not happy no one is happy
however it does seem that the woman stets the mood in the home why not really sure, maybe we are just better at the emotional parts of life, this can go both way at times too, have you ever been in the room at tax time when he is trying to get the math together for that? stay out and give him room too... lol

I guess it depends on the heart of the husband. personally, if my wife isn't happy I'm not. I think it's cause I love her and want to be happy always . . I know that's impossible, but I gotta try.

Yes. My wife has specifically told me several times, "If I'm not happy, YOU'RE not happy!"
I laughed, but looking back on it I remember inwardly quaking with fear. Nothing like a temple wed woman to lay the law down!

I know for a fact that if I'm not happy, there is NO WAY my husband is going to be happy!!
He's usually pretty good at keeping me happy though, that brave, brave man ;-p

Yes, you don't want to be anywhere around an unhappy woman that is attached to you.
Read Proverbs 31:10-31.
Then figure out what the opposite is. There you go.

Generally speaking...yes. It also works both ways, it's just that society recognizes it as being one-sided. It's called "projecting", which is an unhealthy trait. I believe it indicates a level of dependant personality disorder.

Never mind "truly" happy. If you're wife is not happy, you're not even a LITTLE happy.
