this nation was not built by Spain.
When an entire nation has to kowtow to a minority as Canada did, then the whole world knows it has no huevos.
I am heartily sick of the politically correct bs that is going on.

Because America was FOUNDED by the Brits, who speak English, not Spanish. Just like Spain was founded by the Spaniard. Why should the US make both languages official if Mexico can't make both languages official as well?

Would it be reasonable to ask France to make Spanish its other official language? Or to ask Italy to make Hungarian its other official language?

I agree...the "Americas" were discovered by people from---wait for it ----SPAIN first! I'd have no problem with that. It's not like English speakers in Canada are required to know french. I HATE when people say hateful things to people about speaking spanish. Both English and Spanish speaking settlers did not do the Natvie Americans the courtesy of learning THEIR language. It's kind of hypocritical to expect people to speak english when they come here...don't get me wrong...I think THEIR life would be easier if they did learn english, but people don't need to get an attitue about it.
