i think it means different things to different people... sometimes when someone says they "hooked up" with someone they mean sex.. other times they mean just made out.. and it can include anything in beween--depending on who you talk to..

It depends...
Unfortunately this is one of those phrases that can mean anything from, getting a person's number (you hooked up with them) to having sex with them (you hooked up with them) or you just made out. A lot depends on the context, how old the people are, where the hook-up was made, etc.
