I have a question foir Christians. Like those Christian Movie reviewers, they go to watch all difrerent movies. Listen to certain music to review. How do they keep pure, and not have eyes full of lust.

I stay away from certain movies, and music to keep me pure, and not in the world...which im happy about.

But how do they do that? is there certain Christians that can do it? Could you as Christians, or do you think you wouldnt take that risk?

Sweetie, you are on the right track by staying away from certain movies and music that you feel are inappropriate. That is what the Lord wants us to do. If there is something that you know will hinder your walk with God, stay away from it, no matter what it is. First and for most remember that we are all sinners saved by grace and we "strive" for perfection. That means you do the best you can to not do anything that would come between you and the Lord. If you slip up and do something you shouldn't, don't let the devil beat you up over it. He is good at that. That is what repentance is for. The best way to stay pure is like you stated, stay away from temptations, read your Bible daily and pray every day and ask God for guidance and help. God knows your heart and what your desire truly is and He will help you. No, I do not believe that there are certain Christians who can do things that you feel are wrong. It is all about convictions. What the Lord convicts you over, might not be a problem for someone else, but could be a stumbling block for you. If I felt like it was something the Lord really didn't think I needed to see or do, I wouldn't risk it. He knows what is best for us. Bless you.

During the time the early Christians was on the earth the Romans had what they called a circus where man was against men and men against animals. during the intermissions they slit the throats of weak ones to keep up the excitement of the evenings entertainment.
christians were fed to the lions and whole familys from tottlers to old man were ripped to shreds and eaten for the entertainment. Some where hung on poles to die a slow agonizeing death.
Is the horror movies we watch any different? War movies?
where whole villiages are blown up.
God has shown on numerous occassions like before the flood he stated the earth is full of violence because of them.
He couldn't watch, it was so horrible.
So he swept them away with water.
The bible says he hates violence> do we?
How do we show God that we hate violence also?
We hate immoral conduct? by watching people do it?
The bible says in the last days Satan's spirit would be poured out on the air> Out of the air we can pick up any immoral, pedofile, phronographic pictures, people being tortured.
Also , over the air we can watch enviromental issues and animals at play. funny stories. things that make us laugh.
Joy was one of the fruits of the spirit.

Once again I say I say the word "Christian" is used too broadly. To be a true Christian is to try to be Christ like. And to be that way is excepting Jesus as your Saviour and receiving the Holy Spirit in your life and then you have an urge to be more like God. You will have an urge to read your Bible and you will want to start living right, which includes watching the right movies and looking at the right things.... Christians are all sinners and will continue to be sinners.. Humans are sinners .. We just have to continue to ask for forgiveness for our sins. Afterall, that is why Jesus died on the cross for all our sins, and to save us, so we would not have to....But we as Christians will never be pure....

True Christians stay pure through the grace of God and by guarding the avenues to the soul; choosing carefully what is brought before the mind.

As a Christian, I have a filter in place. It is found in the Bible and it helps me to stay pure before God.

Philippians 4:8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things [are] honest, whatsoever things [are] just, whatsoever things [are] pure, whatsoever things [are] lovely, whatsoever things [are] of good report; if [there be] any virtue, and if [there be] any praise, think on these things.

If my thoughts are such that God would be displeased, by His grace I repel them.

Christians are not pure . We are all sinners . Jesus has offered us a way to be forgiven of our sins . We Christians try hard to avoid sin by using prayer and common sense . But we are not immune to lust , or any other sin . We try to steer clear of the things that will cause us to sin . Some of us , like me , sin repeatedly . All the more reason to rejoice for Him who has given salvation . Thank you Jesus for saving me . It becomes easier to avoid sin when you keep Jesus in your heart and let Him lead you . Some people like me , have too much pride and try to do things on their own . We can't do it without God . When temptation becomes too much for me , I read Ephesians 6:10-6:18 about putting on the full armor of God . These words have helped me through a lot .

I had a very religious friend who said she had to pray very hard every day so she wouldn't sin. I thought about that a lot and realized that I had to work very hard to sin. it was not something I could easily do. I guess you have to decide if some one elses decision as to what a sin is, is the same as your idea of sin. If you just blindly follow some one else with out thinking about it then you take the chance of running off a cliff and not knowing it.

No Christians are pure. There's no such thing. Because each individual one of us are born with sin but in ways that we can ask for forgiveness from HIM. As long as to actually not be doing it once more. Even so, it is SOMETIME impossible for us humans not be doing the same thing over again because the sin that we've commited have been sunk into our system as into our actions or thoughts.

There'll be no way around to saying that Christians stay pure at all times and at all cost. But if we remember the word of GOD well...those words will be turned into guidance from the HOLY SPIRIT that surrounds each and one of us.

Even to those that are not Christians, GOD knows who you are personally and he knows wheter to choose you as his part of CHURCH of Christ.

I think we can abstain to a certain point, but no one's perfect.

At the same time, recall that we're not all afflicted with the same weaknesses to the same temptations. Some people might be more prone to violent or addictive behavior, others to lust, etc. They have their faults, it's just different than yours, y'know?

As for me, if I figure something might try to get a hold of me it's easier to stop before you start than to cut back after you've begun.

Some of us have a natural ability. Where as I have no trouble with alcohol, I might be weak in an area of chocolate. (yes eating too much ...). So I avoid situations where I am weak. Yes, we can all fall, but it helps to pray on the full armor of God (Eph. 6:12-..). also, resist the devil ,and he will flee. When he sees we resist continuously in an area (have defeated it) he will move on to another temptation.

You have to stay hooked to the vine. But here are 5 things to do involving staying hooked to the vine.

1) Pray, pray, pray, pray, pray, etc.

2) Neglect not the assembling of yourself with the rest of the saints at as many services as possible.

3) Read/meditate on the word.

4) Give your tithe/offerings (to your local assembly I add).

5) Testify/witnesses.
