Poor baby, she's had a lot of stress, and I'll bet she's pretty sore to boot.... Can you put the litter and food/water in the room she's hiding in and shut the door? Keep it nice and quiet with a low light, not completely dark, and don't check her too often, every few hours at most. If there's nothing in or out by morning, she should definitely see a vet. One other thing you should do is check her gum color, make sure she's nice and pink. Pale white gums could be a sign of bleeding. Her belly should not feel hard, though she'll probably feel very tense when you touch her because of her nerves. Check her incision, make sure it's not red, swollen, separated, or draining. If it is, call a vet. If you're feeling brave and want to take her temp, use a little K-Y jelly or Vaseline and a rectal thermometer, normal is 100-101.5, if it's above 102 I'd start to worry about infection.

How long has it been since she had a drink? If it's been longer than 12hours, contact the vet and ask them what to do because it might be that she has something wrong with her, if it hasn't it would just be her settling into a new home, put a bowl of water near where she's hiding and leave her be, she'll probably drink that, put down some food - something nice and enticing if she's just had the op, like plain chicken or white fish because it's gentler on their stomachs after an anesthetic, and you may find that left alone she chooses to eat and drink, and when she needs to use it, she'll use the litter tray...but if you're that worried, call the vet and ask their advice.

It could well be that she just needs time. Mine hid about 3 days after the last move, but after that, they were fine.
If Molly is eating at all, she's probably going to be all right. But if the behavior persists after 3 days, she may need a vet's attention. Getting moved and then getting operated on would be pretty traumatic.

Just keep a close eye on Molly. Cats get very upset sometimes when their environment changes (going from one home to another, or going from one home to the animal shelter and then to a new home). Just keep food and water available to her and a litter box in a visable area. I am sure over time, she will adjust and will start eating, drinking and powering her nose in the litter box. Give her a few days, if no improvement is noticed, then take her to your Vet.

My female cat spent about 2 weeks cowering under a table. She used the litter tray when I picked her up and plonked her on it, and i had to feed her under the table for the 2 weeks until she plucked up courage to come out. I found tuna and prawns helped! just make lots of fuss of her (as im sure you are!) Although I would suggest that if she doesn't eat/drink/use tray after 3 days, to contact your vet. good luck x

Call the vet at once. She may be dealing with an infection from the surgery inside where you can't see it. This is a major surgery, a full hysterectomy just like humans. Mom should be recovering just like daughter. Call before the vet closes.

its hard for adult cats to settle in a new without having to deal with the speying operation as that can be traumatic in itself! leave them a few days and try to give them space so not to overly scare them. if things arent better by monday then ask the vet for advice. good luck

If she is not eating or drinking you do need to see a vet with her as she could become very ill through dehydration. It probably is the stress of a new home and the operation she has had but she may need additional care.
I hope all works out xxx

I think that when she was little something was bothering her or something very terrifying happened in her life. And she's afraid that it might happen again. So, I say you should see a vet. But, I think that this might be the reason.
