Some small early studies seemed to indicate that there might be some benefit to prayer even if the person didn't know they were being prayed for. But further study has, thus far, refuted that.

Prayer can help the person praying and the person being prayed for to feel better. But this doesn't tell us that the prayer is being answered by a supernatural being, it only tells us about how relaxing and the feeling more secure can help give us a better outcome in some cases.
If prayer makes you feel better then I won't tell you to stop. But don't expect science to show that the supernatural claims made for prayer are true.

LOL....from what evangelical website did you pull this garbage from? There have been many scientific studies into the effectiveness of prayer on injuries, disease, and afflictions. The results showed very minor improvements using prayer but those improvements with prayer were almost the same as patients that received placebo drugs or treatments. So save time, take a sugar pill and tell yourself you feel better. It will have the same effect as prayer and take a lot less time.

Many studies have shown that the "power of prayer" only works when the person being prayed for knows it and believes it will help. The funny thing is that you don't even have to actually pray for the person. you just have to tell them that you will.
In other words....... It is all in the head of the person being "prayed" for.

I TOTALLY believe in the power of prayer and miraculous healing. Faith is part of it, but the recipient does not have to be aware to benefit. There are many non-believers who will try to dispute or call for "scientific proof", but just because we can't understand it doesn't mean it isn't true. It can't be disproved either.

Oh I've heard alright. And the "great results" are that it does NOT work, and even seems to have a negative effect.
And if you have any evidence that contradicts those studies, let's have it.

Please name some of these "top scientists".
A study that lasted almost 10 years proved that prayer had no benefits whatsoever for those recovering from heart surgery.

All the real double blind studies indicate prayer doesn't work, and knowing someone is praying for you is detrimental to your recovery.

We all have the power to affect physical reality with our minds. People have been doing it for 20,000 years.

I have heard. The power of prayer works because the mind can be used to do many great things. All one has to do is convince themselves of their own miracles and through self assuring, they can do just about anything. No religion is needed.
