If she is asleep, she might be having night terrors. It happens. I don't think it's an emergent situation.

Why would you call the hospital? Haven't you ever called out during a dream and then when someone tried to wake you up or do something you accidently verbally or physically lash out at the person. Say someone tries to wake you up when you don't want to and you shout out "leave me alone or Go away".

My boyfriend's sister screams in her sleep too. It's the same thing pretty much as talking in your sleep, just screaming. The slap probably wasn't meant to be violent, she's probably just out of it.
Try throwing water on her or something to wake her up.

Leave her alone, if the noise bothers you get some earplugs, when she wakes up on her own then you can ask her about it, or ask your parents when they get back, don't yell, scream, or throw anything on her, because you could startle her in her sleep and possibly cause her to have some sort of attack, just stay out of striking range.
