I'm 19, around 135 pounds, not really dieting but I don't eat too much junk food. 5 days a week I do ellipticals, and on 3 of those days I also lift weights. I have been going to the gym for 5 weeks, why am I not really seeing any results yet?

It depends on your routine, your body composition, starting weight, goal weight and caloric intake. If you are doing light training you may not see results for months. The harder you train and the better you eat the sooner you will see results. If you've gone 5 weeks without switching up your routine you need to do that. more intensity and longer intervals will help. If you really don't know what to do, consult a personal trainer at your gym. They can work with you to develop a training and nutrition plan that will help you meet your goals in the most healthy way possible.

Good luck!

Your not seeing any results at all? No weight loss? No inches lost or better tone? Based on what your are saying you are doing, I would recommend either increasing the time or the intensity of your workouts, and start really watching what and when you eat. Reduce fat, complex carbs, and total over all calories. Drink more water and less of anything else. Check out the site below to see what kinds of calories/fat/carbs various foods have, as well as seeing how many calories your actually burning when you work out.

About 3 weeks, if you go a few times a week.

Could be your diet, I'm in the same stage right now but I've only been active for about 2 weeks right now and have seen LITTLE results (in my pectorals and my hips.)

Just me though. Keep at it and don't get discouraged, I bet it'll hit you one morning when you wake up.

What results are you trying to get? It doesn't sound like you're overweight.. just keep doing what you're doing. You're probably having better 'results' internally, like having a healthier heart and lungs, good oxygen exchange, and higher blood volume.
