Sex outside of marriage (even if consensual) is illegal. Sex with subordinates is illegal. Rape can actually get you executed. Additionally there are several consensual sexual acts that the military describes as 'sodomy' which are (you guessed it) illegal.

The short answer is 'yes, soldiers can have sex.' However, they are subject to many more restrictions in who they choose as their partner.

Do you mean HOMOSEXUAL sex? If that's what you mean, the answer is no. Any military member engaging in homosexual sex is subject to immediate discharge and may be subject to court-martial in certain situations (by force or coercion, supervisor having homosexual sex with a subordinate, stuff like that).

Heterosexual sex is allowed, but there are some restrictions. For example, if you're married, you're only allowed to have sex with your spouse -- having sex with anyone else is adultery (a single person having sex with a married person is also adultery). Officers are not allowed to have sex with enlisted members AT ALL unless the officer and enlisted person are married. Single officers having sex with single enlisted members is fraternization and is not allowed.

Yes, heterosexual sex is allowed in the military. Homosexual sex, that is what the "don't ask, don't tell" policy is referring too. Homosexuals are not supposed to talk about or infer about their alleged homosexuality as it may be grounds for their discharge from the service.

I find this question rather funny. If you're not married, you shouldn't be having sex, but of course it happens. Everyone knows that when you put males and females together, particularly young males and females sex is going to happen. Its up to the soldiers to be discreet about it though.

It doesn't matter whether it's heterosexual or homosexual, so long as it is consensual and neither party "reports" the other, all goes well. After all, don't you think that what goes on in someone else's bedroom is none of your damn business unless you are in there with them? Basically, the military feels the same way.

Sure military members can have sex. Just no adultry, no officer-enlisted sex, no on duty sex, no sex between people in the same chain of command. And no animals.

Strictly speaking, sex between unmarried heterosexual couples is a violation of Article 120 (and possibly Article 125) of the UCMJ.

ART. 120. RAPE AND CARNAL KNOWLEDGE
(a) Any person subject to this chapter who commits an act of sexual intercourse with a female not his wife, by force and without consent, is guilty of rape and shall be punished by death or such other punishment as a court-martial may direct.
(b) Any person subject to this chapter who, under circumstances not amounting to rape, commits an act of sexual intercourse with a female not his wife who has not attained the age of sixteen years, is guilty of carnal knowledge and shall be punished as a court-martial may direct.
(c) Penetration, however slight, is sufficient to complete either of these offenses.

ART. 125. SODOMY
(a) Any person subject to this chapter who engages in unnatural carnal copulation with another person of the same or opposite sex or with an animal is guilty of sodomy. Penetration , however slight, is sufficient to complete the offense.
(b) Any person found guilty of sodomy shall be punished as a court-martial may direct.

Consensual heterosexual sex with someone who is not your spouse is not often punished -- if so, every soldier that ever purchased the services of a prostitute (male or female), or had sex with a girlfriend/boyfriend or fiancee would be under court-martial. Especially in more modern times, when so many folks "hook-up", the number of courts martial would be insane. But strictly speaking, any sex outside of a heterosexual marriage is a violation of the UCMJ, and could be punished.

What you do while off base, or at military supplied housing for married couples is your business. Now if you do this in the barracks, then you are in some trouble.
