Does anyone really believe they are christians and that the bible is actually really there? Never mind whether or not the stuff in it is supposed to be true, but is there really a such thing as 'the bible'? I used to think there was, but somehow they seem to vanish into the ashes of my fireplace whenever I think I have one. So, the question is, if the only evidence of a bible's existence is the ashes left in the fireplace, then was the bible ever really there?

Everything is relative, including the existence of the bible. We create our own realities, individually and collectively, and so the bible can only exist....for those who believe it exists. *sm*

I don't think I understand your question? The fact that the Bible is one of the worlds top selling books is proof enough that the book itself is reality. The fact that many blindly follow the words written upon the pages is again more proff that the book is real.

However maybe you are asking, are the tales, the proverbs, the lessons, and the fables within the pages of that book, are real or not?

I don't know, I think that like most stories that have been handed down through history, there is some "truth" to the tales and stories, but are the infallable? I doubt that!

I think that part of what concerns me about the validitity of the Bible is the picking and choosing as to what went in and what was LEFT OUT. The editing process in ancient times left many "BOOKS" of the Bible on the cutting room floor! And several "BOOKS" that are in there from perspective of different people, do not always COINCIDE... so go figure.

I personally have a Bible, I enjoy sitting with Christians ever now and again and learn from them about their beliefs in the Bible and what the believe the stories are trying to "Teach" and "Guide" them in.

Is it real as in a real book, yes. Is it real as in are all the stories within actually edicts of a Creator? I have my doubts, but doubt is only opinion and you know what opinions are like. ;)

definite, the final public (around 60%) of scientists have the two a disbelief in god or believe god does not exist. this recommendation is effectively sourced from Wikipedia. this might appear as if an argument from authority, besides the shown fact that since scientists must be those honestly to have encountered scientific information for a god. the desired loss of perception means that the information is at maximum, very scarce. So optimistic, this is a low-priced place to maintain for the two atheists and theists. As for theists who carry this point of view and besides the shown fact that experience once you think approximately that of religion, they're in a position to and do. this may be a place that i in looking just about bewildering however: to apply faith as an excuse to experience, whilst particularly keeping a concept on faith is basically making a presupposition (or wager) and consequently might desire to be expressed as an admission of doubt, is to fly interior the face of rationality. finally can every physique argue in contrast assertion? optimistic then can and characteristic tried to, Dinesh D'souza (a christian apologist) is a stable representation of this. His argument, although isn't very efficient as he claims this is all with regards to the style you interpret the information, as quickly as extra i ingredient out the scientist advice in this subject. The unique loss of concept interior the scientific group attitude this is probable Dinesh is the guy who misinterprets the information.

Me thinks this is a baited question and that you really already know that the 'The Bible' or Gospels, Good News, etc, is from the Jewish Old Testament and early Christian (New Testament) writings handed down from parchments and scrolls, eventually translated into Roman and Greek, etc, etc, etc... but to answer your question, Yes! There would still be the stories from the Old Testament and the Good News of Jesus Christ, whether or not all Bibles were burned... as long as there remained the spoken Word, because as we all know, "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God." (John 1:1)

HHAHAHAA - SO WAIT YOUR ASKING IF THERE IS A BIBLE WHERE THERE ISNT ONE NOW BECAUSE WHEN LAST YOU SAW THERE WAS ONE BUT THEN IT BURNED SO ALL YOU SEE NOW ARE THE ASHES OF THAT ONCE EXISTING BIBLE??

HUM I DONT KNOW THATS LIKE ME SAYING " I HAD A DOG NAMED JEIDY AND SHE WAS SO CUTE I LOVED HER BUT THEN ONE DAY SHE DIED AND I CREMATED HER NOW ALL I HAVE OF HER ARE HER ASHES BUT MY QUESTION IS WAS SHE REALLY MY DOG WAS SHE REALLY LIVE WAS SHE HERE ONCE?

NO SHE WASNT SHE WAS IN MY IMAGINATION !!!!!
I CREATED HER BECAUSE I WAS LONELY BUT SOME HOW I HAVE HER ASHES IN FRONT OF ME OVER MY FIREPLACE
.
WHAT AN IGNORANT QUESTION

THE WORD OF GOD IS TRUTH
NOW IF YOU DONT WANT TO LISTEN TO THE TRUTH THEN HEY THATS ON YOU BUT WHY MUST YOU TRY TO PROVE THAT THERE IS NO GOD? FOR YOU TO PROVE THAT THERE IS NO GOD YOU MUST FIRST LEARN OF HIM AND TO LEARN OF HIM YOU HAVE TO READ THE BIBLE

SO YEA BUDDY THE BIBLE WAS REALLY THERE AND THE BIBLE DOES EXIST

YOU CAN NOT PROVE ONE THING WITH OUT HAVING THE OTHER

IF THERE IS NO GOD THEN THERE IS NO DEVIL

AND TO PROVE EITHER OR YOU NEED A BIBLE

BECAUSE THE BIBLE HOLDS THE TRUTH -IF YOU ARE A CHRISTIAN A BELEIVER OR NOT- THE BIBLE CAN HELP YOU PROVE GOD IS REAL AND CAN HELP YOU PROVE GOD IS JUST A "NARRATOR" IN THE "FICTIONAL BOOK" CALLED THE BIBLE -DEPENDING ON HOW YOU WANT TO TAKE IT.

NEXT TIME STOP WASTING YOUR TIME, MONEY AND WORTHLESS EFFORT BURNING BIBLES- TRY AND READ ONE- ONLY THOSE WHO ARE AFRAID OF WHAT THEY MIGHT FIND AND SEE ARE THE ONES WHO CLOSE THEIR EYES IN FEAR

You know, I could have all sorts of fun analyzing why you feel you have to antagonize Christians by implying you burned the Bible.

But, if I were you, I wouldn't go around saying I burn books... it would kind of associate you with the wrong kind of crowd, if you know what I mean.

Your playing with FIRE on that one. If I am believing in something that is not true where am I hurt? But by not believing in its teachings and someone is wrong where are they hurt? Scarey thought to me. I would rather believe in the more promising outcome. yes it really is there and here I have about 15 of them to prove the point. I would be uncomfortable about carelessly burning the word of GOD cuz he could SMOTE you easily!!!
