There is a BIG difference between the huge crowds of pew fillers that call themselves Chritsians and the handful that really are. The REAL Christians are supposed to be like sheep before the slaughter - in other words, they don't behave like warrriors and go around murdering people and forcing them be Christians.

It is true that in olden times( and is still currently happening in some form or another), Christians "forced" others to believe. The beauty of that is that those same Christians will answer dearly to God for the wrong that they did to others in the name of Christ. When judgement comes, and I believe it is coming soon, it will begin with the preachers, teachers etc. because they were at the forefront (and still are) of the Christian movement. The Christians job is to plant the seed and get out of the way of God so that He can do the rest. Christians cannot "save" anyone, only God can do the saving.

merely approximately all rules do no longer come from the bible; the flaws which includes 'do no longer kill' or 'do no longer scouse borrow' predate the bible with the aid of an prolonged time. this could be an uncomplicated actuality. And sure, society would not base itself around the Norse theory of dying in conflict. even with the undeniable fact that, you will additionally observe that there is not any regulation everywhere in the secular international that asserts something approximately accepting Jesus and repenting of unique sin, this is what YOU declare it takes to get into Heaven. subsequently that assessment is completely valueless. Oh, with the aid of how, what approximately slavery? maximum probably some thing we regard as a heinous crime presently; no longer a observe against it in the bible. if certainty be told, the bible provides suggestion on the thank you to deal at the same time with your slaves. Yep, i will see how your faith's ethics define society...

The problem is they believe you can only show the 'Golden Rule' toe people who believed as you do. Since the Aztecs and others did not believe in the Christian God then they were the Antichrist and they could do with them as they saw fit.

The "golden rule" is an idiom, and has nothing to do with God's law. The golden rule is common sense that works well generally, but breaks down with masochism, or moodiness. Sometimes we don't always want to be treated well.
God's law is that uncleanness has no place with him, and so he punished his holy Son for the whole world's uncleanness, if we repent.
Well, ultimately, it's God who sets up kingdoms and spreads religion around the world, in one form or another... He let the Americas be Christianized just as he let Africa be Islamized and Asia Confucianized and Buddhized. His purposes are always good, in the end.

That was what the Church did in ancient times - force people to accept Christianity or face the wrath of missionaries sent to convert them. That was how the Church grew in size and numbers, not because the people willingly accepted the faith. In comparison to today's standards, missionaries are sent to teach and not to coerce anyone into believing or following what they preach. There is more freedom of choice, freedom to choose which teaching or religion to embrace.

It's just because the missionaries have big egos. Many, many Christians think their way is the only right way! You'll burn in hell for that missy. Whatever! My God loves me and every one of us. God is capable of defending God, and teaching ppl how to live. It's really nomb unless I am asked. I have a little of a lot of religions in my beliefs. What I've learned is that as long as my foundation is unconditional love for my HP, me., and others, I'm in a spiritual place for me. My God loves us more than I love my babies. I can't get my mind completely around that, but I believe it.
blessed be

Good point! Evangelical Christians seem to believe EVERYBODY wants to convert to christianity. The mindset of certain christians is that because they believe "THEIR" god is the one true god, if they do something in his name, they have "divine permission" to violate any legal, civil or moral rights anyone else has. Hense- the witch trials, crusades, decimation of the Native Americans, Druids, Celts, pretty much any non-christian belief they come in contact with. And christians want to stereotype Muslims as terrorists? Being Wiccan, a christian fanatic REALLY unnerves me....
