No ties with organized crime what really ticks a lot of the old school fans off is that he also doesn't have any ties to the south or it's traditions. Being from California has made him a target for ridicule and his almost instant success only made people dislike him more.

I heard an thrilling statistic final week. Jeff Gordon has been racing now for i think of 15 seasons. And he has had a Bud Pole for 14 consecutive seasons. that kind of consistent extreme overall performance coupled with the fact that he did no longer incredibly signify the 'wide-unfold' NASCAR fan of the days whilst he first began... those are the two reasons i think of assorted human beings have come to 'hate' him. in fact, it takes 'something' for individuals to hate a individual. In Jeff's case it replaced into probable jealousy over his rapid effects and disgust over the fact that somebody who wasn't a "good ole' boy" ought to race exceptionally much as good as he ought to. i'm nevertheless no longer a Jeff Gordon fan, yet after seeing him shake the cobwebs from his head after a tricky hit at Texas a a million/2-dozen years in the past, I resolved to no longer boo him anymore. no person who's keen to place his existence on the line in that way for our entertainment and of challenge at economic rewards merits to be boo'd. take a seem on the tough and tumble seem of drivers like Tony Stewart and Dale Earnhardt Jr. and additionally you will understand the adaptation between Gordon followers and Gordon haters. i do no longer think of i've got ever seen Jeff Gordon with 5 o'clock shadow or his hair tousled. And that irks some human beings.

Because to some fans he's the anti-Earnhardt, even though Sr. liked the kid. Gordon comes from the West Coast, esp. California (the Granola Belt, land of fruits, nuts &flakes). He wins and wins often. He's young, good-looking. He wears a striped race suit that some foks mistake as some gay-pride thing, not the design set forth by du Pont (his major sponsor).
He's won 4 championships in a short time. He passed Dale Sr. in alltime wins.

In short, they're flippin' jealous. So what of Gordon isn't Southern, part of the good-ol' boy bunch from Carolina? He can drive, he can race, and he can win. If Sr. could see that and respect him, even though on a track he'd just as soon put him in the wall (but that was just Dale's way), what is the problem with the rest of 3 Nation?

I agree that Gordon is a great driver. The problem is that he whines too much. He doesn't seem to have a problem forcing someone out of the way or wrecking them on the last lap (nor should he feel bad, rubbing is racing). The problem is that when it happens to him, he gets all upset, talks bad about the other driver, and complains that the person didn't show enough patience.

Again I have no problems with him spinning cars out occasionally if the person is slower than him and doesn't let him by. My favorite driver was Dale Earnhardt, and he did plenty of it. The reason i respect Dale Sr. more is that if someone wrecked him, he just said he'd get him back next time or would make some joke about the other guy.

Gordon's crying is the same reason that I will never root for Tony Stewart, even though i personally like the way he driver and think he is very talented. Take a person like that, and give them tons of success and that equals alot of dislike for them.

Again, I am only talking about the specific reason that I don't like him.

Jealousy is the answer. He has been a winner since he began racing. I hear some say because he hasn't paid his dues, BS. If Jr would have started his career, the way Jeff did & we know that he hasn't, would they hate Jr. Most people who hate Gordon supported Earnhardt Sr, but along came Jeff & things changed on the track. Head to head, Jeff vs Sr, Jeff has won more races than Sr. Sr was the man to beat, then Jeff came along and took away some of the spotlight. I was never a fan of Sr, but I give him his props, why can't Sr fans do the same? Records are broken in every sport, it's something you have to accept. Bonds will break Aaron's record, whether anybody like it or not.

It is my hope that people really don't HATE Gordon,I really think fans of other drivers root againest him and root hard because Jeff is a threat every Sunday to win.Thats good for racing. But when I hear he's the most hated I laugh. He's the second most popular driver behind Jr. and ahead of Smoke , Jimmy and Kahne. When people boo him its a sign of respect Dale Sr. told him that.Boo all you want but keep the beer in your hand.Throwing beer is alcohal abuse.

I'm a huge Gordon fan( by the way, i did backflips in the living room when i found out junior was coming). I believe they hate him because of his success and his accomplishments that push him past Dale Earnhardt Senior. Some people say that he whines when things don't go there way(c'mon, who doesn't?), and he isn't like the rest of us (average american, etc.) And he isn't some good o'l boy from the south, and i'm glad i'm a fan of what you said, a well spoken driver, and is good! Even though i'm a Gordon fan, for some reason, i can't stand Jimmie Johnson.

ive been a Gordon Fan for 13 years, and its funny to see what people said on here. he cries? ok, im pretty sure Tony Stewert cries way more than Jeff does. Gordon also said that he was trying to move Jimmie Johnson outa the way, not wreck him, he wouldnt wreck a team mate. and those of you who say hes gay, thats just imature. he clearly isnt, he has a model for a wife. you people need to get a life who sit there and say things like that.

i think people dont like him because he has class, and respect for the sport. and the fact that he is a winner. people will be jealous over him because they know who they root for will never be as great as Gordon.

Gordon is not one of my top 10 favorites, but it is not because of him.He personnally one of the top 5 NASCAR drivers in theis era.He has th GQ looks that sponsors want. And he is a competitor.
But for my dislike it goes back to some politics that happened with his transition from Busch to cup.
