OK,
I hope you are not talking about suicide
"give up our old lives for a new clean pure life, where we serve Christ every day"
Because although it is an option it is against Gods teachings so you would be making yourself an outcast by doing it.
I do not know your sex so your options for clean living could be the Priesthood, a convent, a C of E Vicar the list is endless.
Giving up your old life for a new clean life serving God is easy to do but it is something that you have to do whole heartidly, you will have to sacrifice a lot but the rewards will be worth it.

There was no price. Eph. 2:8,9 For by grace are you saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is a gift of God: not of works, lest any man should boast. What part of grace and gift do christians not understand? A gift cannot be bought at any price or earned. so where do you get that Jesus had to die on a cross tor our sins? This verse also contradicts the entire o.t. with all the obey me or else baloney. the Spirit of truth ALWAYS invites, NEVER commands, demands, or threatens. All that demand or else stuff is the exclusive domain of the unholy spirit. that is why you never hear Jesus talk like that.

You are absolutley correct! Once you accept Jesus Christ as your Savior and Lord you lose the right to choose good for lives anymore. When you choose good you miss God just one to many zero's. If Jesus is head over your life you must talk to the one who owns you before you make any majior decisions such as choosing a mate for marriage, buying a home, car, choosing a job. If you want the best for your lives then allow Jesus to choose for you. When you do he will open doors that no man can shut and close doors that no man can open. He becomes the Lord and govenor over your life.

I'm not sure exactly what you mean by this, because if you have given your life to Christ, it shouldn't be a struggle to let go of your old life. Its something you want to do, and furthermore, the life that "Christians" claim as new and better lives are far from what God intended. He doesn't want his followers to be exclusive, or so mean-spirited, which is how alot of them act. If people let old lives go for a life like that, they haven't much to say about being Christians.

We are so caught up in this world that we have become comfortable. If people think they have a good life why would they want to change it? It goes with that old saying, "If it isn't broke why fix it?" If our lives are going good why change it? It's only when we truly open our eyes and see the crazy world we live in that we realize how dirty we are and that we really need Christ in our lives!

I wish we could. Some people, bless them, do live a pure religious life like you say. I think we've all become so reliant on material things, but I'm with you, how'd it get SO out of hand? I think it's to the point where we're surrounded by SO MUCH sin, like in the media etc. that most of us kinda throw up our arms and go "Eh, what's the point?" and just do like everyone else. Also more people are being raised in homes without religion so they fail to see how it applies to them. Sometimes I wish I were Amish....

The Bible says it all. "Everything is permissible but not everything is beneficial. Everything is permissible but I will not be mastered by anything." (I believe this is in 1 Corinthians.) Indeed we have been given free will. But it is in the exercise thereof where the struggle lies. Shall we use it to gratify the flesh or the Spirit of God? We are being called to turn from our old and wicked ways and follow Jesus Christ closely. It's hard to do but NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE WITH GOD, remember? So by His Spirit we may do it. If only we would accept, believe, and sincerely desire to do it.

It's hard to know for sure EXACTLY what Jesus wants us to do ALL the time. If we did, then we'd make better choices. We were given free will, and we're all meant to be different. Other than Jesus and Mary, there's never been a perfect human being

Some people don't believe they can't enjoy life unless they drink, fornicate and do drugs. I had to almost loose my life to realize that I can still party and have fun but it is cleaner and doesn't leave me with a hangover. My life is better and my headaches are gone. God wants us to make a "good" choice and to live and be free. It's not that hard.

If the price of god has been coming down for two thousand years, he should be worthless by now.
