Even a simple meatloaf can look special if you do this:
After baking, take the meatloaf out of the pan, have some instant or homemade mashed potatoes and 'frost' the meatloaf all over the top and side. Make swirls like a cake, and put under the broiler just until the tips of the swirley part of the mashed pot., get brown. Dust the top with chopped parsley or chives (after coming out of the broiler)Very impressive, good and simple. Serve with a good salad and a favorite veggies, crusty rolls and a hot fudge sundae, cheesecake, eclairs, or just strawberry shortcake for dessert!

You can grill instead of BBQ

BBQ lambchops

1. Marinade in tomato pure, vinegar, salt, ginger and garlic paste and pepper for almost 2 hours
2. BBQ in medium-high heat till you think its done ( atleast 20 minutes, 10 minutes each side. I like it well done so I keep it for about 35 minutes, 15 one side and 20 other)

Salmon is easiest.

1. Take salmon fillet
2. Marinade for 30 mints with salt, lemon juice, a little garlic paste
3. Bake in 350 F for 5 minutes each side (dont forget to brush it with oil)
4. Serve with cilantro and lemon slice and ginger slices on top.
______________
Chicken with rice
1. Marinade chicken in garlic, ginger, yogurt and salt for about an hour
2. On a skillet/crock pot add cooking oil and add 1 or 2 chopped onions
3. Add the chicken
4. Add a little vinegar
5. Cook for about 20-25 minutes, if it gets too dry add a cup of boiling hot water
6. Cook the rice separately
7. Mix with the chicken
8. Put on the stove in low heat, add 2/3 sliced tomatoes, cilantro, 1 small shopped ginger and ground black pepper. Cover for 5 minutes.
9. ENJOY

I'd say do a full out BBQ, dads love anything on the grill!
Maybe steak, chicken, grill up some veggies?

Or, maybe homeade pizza, you can get pretty creative with sauces, cheeses, and options for toppings.

Can't beat steaks on the grill, baked potatoes, green salad, and garlic bread.
