They use this as an EXCUSE to KEEP on SINNING and doing detestable things in the sight of a HOLY and Righteous GOD too!! They love not the Father which is in Heaven, and want them to come to REPENTENCE, but rather the wicked, and evil desires of the FLESH. Like those, for example, of the ancient King David, of whom God Himself annointed to be King over ALL of Israel, and yet in his rebellion, SINNED with Uzziah's wife Bathsheba, in wicked murder and adultery!!!!!!
For them, the atheists, it is better to DENY a living GOD, who they must someday give an account of their lives unto, and continue on in the PLEASURES of SIN for a season! But they all are in for a very horrible, rude awakening someday after they depart this world, for the NEXT!
God, the Holy True Loving God, is doing His part in seeing that they come to total REPENTENCE, so they don't have to suffer the 'SECOND DEATH' which is ETERNAL SEPARATION from God!!!!!!!

No. The basic premise of that argument is questioning the validity of the gospel that portrays God as both omnipotent and benevolent. So if God is all powerful, he must have the ability to prevent/destroy evil and suffering. Failing to do so, he is therefore not benevolent. If God created everything and has power over all, then the same principles apply to evil and torture.
Much more difficult is finding a reason to follow religion, as it removes people from logical thought and rational processes. Look at the justification for crusades, racism, jihad, subordinate role of women, and many other antiquated and outright wrong thoughts. Traced back, you can find a good argument for all of them in various scriptures.

God is existence itself, everyone and everything put together is God. The universe is in a constant state of separating/realizing itself (I), thus going away from God (we). Until we all spread out so much so that we return together in search of God, just to repeat the process over again. Therefore, making us each our own little god. Creating our own little world though our religion and each other. Thus, we choose to be damned or not by our own actions. The actions themselves don't damn us, it is how we respond to those actions. God doesn't do anything, God loves demons too. The truth is, some people want to go to hell and some don't. I say let them do it if it makes them happy, may they realize themselves.

I think the main reason for atheists not believing in a god is firstly because they just don't want to, and secondly because of people shoving the bible down their throats.
It's pretty common on this board to hear them bashing the christian god/religion and using conflicting parts of the bible, but never bashing anything connected to Judaism, Hinduism, Buddhism, Islam, or anything like that.

According to Christianity, God intelligently designed things so that sin would result in separation from God.
In fact, God designed sin itself.
True or False?
If true, then God created things so that people would be tortured for all eternity, which means he is not all-loving.
If false, then sin pre-dates God or was created by something else and God is not all-powerful.
The God of Christianity cannot exist, although an incompetent and/or evil God certainly is plausible.

I have a question for you. Lets say you set a cupcake infront of your child every day for the rest of there life and tell them that they are not allowed to have it, in fact they are not allowed to have any treats for the rest of there lives. Then You tell them that if they live by this rule that when they die they will have all the cupcakes they could ever want but if they take the cupcake in front of them, even just a small taste, they will be raped and tortured for all of eternity. Is that fair? Is that right? IF god exists we would be but little children to him. Some people should never have children.

How can someone who doesn't believe in God or the Bible, use the Bible as an excuse not to believe? Try to understand that there are no "excuses" it is merely a choice and atheists choose not to believe. And, if you read your question, the fear of eternal persecution sounds like your "excuse" to believe in a God.

I wonder how many wonderful people would accept a God who is NOT that biblical idiot who is capable of flooding the whole earth.
Common sense is assaulted by the idiotic dogma of that man made fictional book.
I give God a hell of a lot more credit than to perceive Him as a jealous monster capable of condemning anyone to "hell" for KNOWING that Jesus was only a man.

You have apparently never talked to an actual Atheist.
As we don't believe any kind of gods exist, please tell me how we can then think this non existent being is going to do anything, torture or anything else for that matter?
duh.
Typical illogical Theist.

There are reasons to not believe in God, and there are reasons to not respect God. Torturing people for eternity is a reason to not respect God.
